Did you see our injury list... Lol, j/k. Some players are signed for developing. And, I know the portal and the NIL made moving around easier for these kids that don't play, but some teams still keep and develop players from high school till they can play in college.
No I think you take every chance given to raise the floor of this team and the players we signed solely for practice when we had trouble getting to the 85 limit at this point should be let go if you can replace with better players. it’s a business now, sorry guys.
The bottom of the roster is still going to be filled with the types of guys who occupy the bottom of the roster. It is what it is. We’re still going to have some walk on type guys, and we aren’t required to give them all schollies.
This one surprises me. Knowing how critical depth was this season, he had to have seen that any CB on the two deep is only one hit away from being a starter.
This one doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We can't seem to keep corners healthy during the year, so it isn't like he wasn't going to get playing time. Unless he just doesn't like being at UF.
Maybe he was hoping to be guaranteed his starting job back like Grier? Either way, we have talent in the room and more on the way.
We have talent, but not much returning with experience. Marshall is gone, Moore can't stay on the field and now Jackson is gone, McClain is hurt and I got no idea if he comes back nothing with him would surpised me really. We probably need at least 1 in the portal now, maybe 2?
bro, that position is DEEP: Moore Grimsley Johnson McClain Foster Hanks And possibly the UT commit There’s only so many snaps to go around. And no offense, he wasn’t that impressive the times he was on the field too
Only one of those we know is leaving contributed much and we have Hanks Jr. who just set the Int. record for Dade coming in. We also reportedly have been in on two other big name CBs. The number of injuries we took to that position this year is also unlikely to happen two years in a row. Jackson participated in two games, so the loss isn’t that big. I don’t foresee more than one needed from the portal unless more CBs enter.
I'm assuming anyone we want to stay will stay. I'm not even sure we lost anyone last year we wanted to keep.
Since the university doesn’t give us the “why” behind these moves, I have to think it is mutual. Whether performance, personality, or just a kid needing change. We know that highly competitive athletes are chomping to get in, so someone desiring to leave is likely a good thing they do. I wish all of the departures well until they give reason to feel otherwise.
