It’s a sport; not every 2’ putt or every PAT is made. Deferring to 2nd half hardly guarantees you will execute or score.
Hopefully we are able to take the next step and start the game and 2nd half well. It's about confidence, execution, and dominance.
Is it my imagination or are some trying really hard to piss on our win? Anyone who has ever played the game of football, at any level with any degree of effort knows that every play, every series, every game remains to be seen. There is no guarantee. This isn’t a computer game. Everyone knows this..so..complaining is for a different agenda. Can we stop for the time being tearing everything to pieces? Questioning everything, even the minutiae? We know all the big time questions..we have beaten them to death..in anger..in spades.
Yes, we were not as sharp as we had hoped. If you looked at the stats, you might think the game was close. But, it wasn’t and FSU was outcoached and beat down good enough. I thought we were tougher and played hard but not particularly well executed (on offense) But, we won against a dispicable, dreadful opponent and earned the right to plant our flag in the middle of their crappy stadium. FSU should have just walked into their locker room, with their heads down and let the victors enjoy their win.
I think some here, perhaps many, have not played competitive sports. That’s not an excuse, just lack of experience/knowledge. Sure, they are loyal fans but don’t possess the inner details of playing in a sport. Not trying to be overbearing, just realistic. We need all the Gator fans we can get!
This! This isn't the debate club or a chess match. Football is a high intensity battle where players are asked to win their one on one assignments against an opponent using brute force at times. Battlefield analogies are used as motivation often and our opponent even uses unconquered as their motto. They parade with a Gator head after a win amd take sod as their trophy. The antithesis of competition is crying about the Victor taking their spoils. Lost in all of this is that if fsu and other programs didn't interfere with a celebration then the scuffles don't happen. Osu started it when they cried about Michigan not planting their flag in their field again. Coach's message should have been then we should have stopped them from getting that right in the 60 minutes we played on the field. The message should have been to learn from it and don't let it happen again not have a hissy fit.
Oh, no...now you're sure to hurt some feelings. Certainly, when I reset my video game and re-run my specifically crafted player to run my in-my-head scenarios it always works. I had not considered the impact that a generation of people whose sports expertise and experience is in their living rooms would be most likely to see the vagaries of actual human sports competition to be frustrating. Not all...many with strong opinions on here have played the game, and some at a high level. But I'd be willing to bet many more have done neither. I count myself among these non-players...but I have been responsible to lead and make decisions for entirely fallible human beings going up against just-as-fallible and independent-minded opponents.
Is it the trolling or vulgarity that keeps getting my posts edited or deleted? Lol jk, I'll try to cool it, but, the sailor in me just won't die.
Dude..sir.. you are qualified to opine on strenuous, life threatening physical activity. Ranger? Most playing in the game could not do what a Ranger has done many times.
I concede your point RE a strenuous youth, but can't receive the praise due to my betters. I merely completed the school...not easy, but a far cry from those that live the life 24/7/365. They absolutely are world-class tactical athletes.
I think I may have lumped you in with some others that are more deliberate in recent urinary distributions. Consider my point directed at them, less than at you.
I applaud your modesty. Olympics is one thing. And many are great athletes. The uninitiated may not appreciate that your efforts were not under ideal conditions..yours were done under the worst conditions, the worst heat, with little food, water, time to recuperate et al. Compliment stands. Go Gators
So scUM is not playing in the ACC championship, correct? I don't see how they make the playoffs then. Recent poll has them at 14th but no games remain. Could enough teams ahead of them lose their championship games moving scUM from 14th to 12th or better? https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/fbs/associated-press
Thats right, Miami needs big time help to make the playoffs, the "down" side of playing such a weak schedule.
Most of the time they ask a question about how we know who is a troll. GatorGrowl also gave me this: Nope. You're safe. LOL!
