Couldn't wait for the mods to bring up the OGT to bring this up. I think we all know this is a good team. The next 3 games were the games I identified preseason as "the stretch" where we find out how good. While not having as much "teeth" with UVA losing to UT and St. Johns, it's still the real test of the non-conference slate (all 3 games, not just UVA) If we come out 3-0 of the next stretch, a SEC regular season championship is a real possibility for this team IMO.
I like our chances at home vs Virginia. It will likely be a lower-scoring game. UVa lost to Tennessee by 22 and to Virginia by 25.
we have yet to play a team that even comes close to the depth and talent of the Gators. Virginia won’t either. We will have to wait for the UNC game. Virginia will attempt to frustrate the Gators thru their style of play. We cannot allow that to happen. Just play good defense, no stupid fouls, and rebound.
Virginia has 5-6 guys that are 6'-8" and taller that they can rotate out. They aren't lighting up the stat sheet but makes me think their bigs will play us aggressively. Their two best scorers are perimeter guys that our guards should matchup well with. Rohde has some height over our guards so its important he doesn't get hot. I like our defensive chances against anything they throw at us even with their size. Our advantage on offense will be how well we move the ball and keep our spacing.
Yes, but I believe they play the same style basketball. Once of his assistants took over. Kind of the same slow down half court game. Just got to be patient especially on defense…..and rebound.
This thread is fine. Thanks for starting it! I usually do MBB OGTs on game day and post them 2-3 hours before tip-off.
I am reminded of the joke where the self-employed person had to sue his employer for sexual harassment...
That or they beat themselves by 25; kind of like that movie where Jim Carrey says, “ I beat my own ass!”
As you say Lurker, this is not the Virginia of old. I like the Gator Boyz to continue winning in double digit fashion.
