The officiating was uneven late in this game. Kind of think GT outplayed Ga and deserved the win. Ga just had far more depth and GT wore down as the game extended. GT has had a great season. It will be good to see some team with equal talent and depth mash Ga in the playoffs.
I’m not crazy about Kirby and his desire to be on the field at all times but his post game interviews seem reasonable/respectable. Honestly, I despise FSU far more than Ga and I hate Ga.

No, GA has some flaws that will cost them.

The field was literally tilting because of the talent disparity. Outside of maybe pOSU, no team has more top level talent than Georgia. Ga Tech had them dead to rights, and let the mutts off the hook. Buddy or no buddy, Mike Bobo will likely be “moving on” after the season is over, escape :emoji_goat:.

This was the first OT game I watched where they forced a 2-point conversion attempt every time. I think this setup favors a team with a strong running game because the field gets compressed for passing. Not sure I’m a fan of it.

Depends on which Georgia team shows up, the team that was pushed around by Ole Miss or the team that dominated Texas in Austin.

I don't like changing the format of a game to decide OT. Don't understand why they can't just adopt the NFL method. No phase of football is cut an advantage in the NFL version. By spotting the ball at the opponents 25 in college you take away a strength when a team is built on defense or give an advantage to an offense that has a harder time moving the ball. Boom, here's 75 yards granted to you. Not a fan

They definitely need to get rid of each team getting an additional timeout for every overtime...maybe one timeout for all the overtime sessions makes more sense but calling timeout after each time a team line's up to run the play was getting annoying.

I think that the college OT is amazing! It is like a shootout. I love it and wish the NFL would adopt it. I hate the current NFL overtime.

The one change I'd make is to start the ball at the 40 or 50 yard line.

That's reasonable. I don't believe teams should start in scoring position. 50 is a good compromise

I can't remember who, but I thought one of the Georgia coaches is now at Tech.

    More ramblings-

Anyway, probably 90% of the people watching that game were pulling for Tech. It was a shame they lost after that monumental effort. Afterall, they were huge underdogs. With a slightly more creative playbook they could have pulled it off. They needed another battering ram other than their QB.

If someone can have a strong 4th quarter, they can beat Georgia. This year Georgia sleepwalks until then.

The result of that game reminded me of the Old Olympic video: "The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" (The ski jumper buying the ranch...)

After losing that game you bring all of your equipment to the fifty yard line and ceremoniously burn it; for posterity.o_O

And, finally, you can see that the Georgia faithful have become jaded, they want to fire Bobo. They're criticizing Kirby. There are rumblings. Sound familiar? Winning does weird things to a fanbase. It makes losing a game or two terribly inconvenient and appear as mediocrity- abject failure. Your mean-level of existence/tolerance changes and skews your judgement...

    Go Gators-beat FSU.

Not sure about favoring a running team, maybe a team with a running QB tho. Most 2 pt plays are passing or trick plays. Both Tech and Georgia threw almost every 2 pt possession until the end.

I liked the old o/t rules better, kept the kicking game involved. New rules remind me of the penalty kicks in soccer.

The Tech OC was qb coach for uga during the Stetson Bennett glory years.
Per my cousin who is a tech grad atl radio asked Bennett how involved he was in the great uga offenses.
Bennett replied he talked to this coach every day.
And he hardly ever talked with Monken the official oc.
Stetson clearly was far more loyal to this guy.
