Next AP poll prediction for UF versus UConn

    Do we jump them?

    Sportswriters are so dumb that they won't drop UConn enough or bump the Gators enough is my guess. That would have them admitting that they were wrong from the get go and they are not the type to admit that.

    I think we jumped from 18 to 7 in the Kenpom.

    This team is incredibly impressive.

    I know that but sportswriters have a lot of inertia in their picks.

    Kenpom has UConn out of the Top 25 but I would bet that they are still in the next Top 25 AP poll.

    Want a laugh? ESPN predictor for our UNC game. 60% chance UNC wins. They also give us no chance for first 2 SEC games and slight underdog at Arkansas for third game.

    Tough games. Not impossible that happens. The in-conference competition this season will be truly brutal.

    Chinyelu and Martin give me tremendous confidence with respect to our toughness. With chemistry and luck, we can seriously challenge for the national championship.

    It'll be a de facto home game for UNC, which has lost their 3 games to quality competition. Would be a huge win for the Gators.

    To be fair, all of those are good teams. In fact, KenPom, who rates the Gators as the #7 in the nation, would only have Florida as a 1 pt favorite at UNC and underdogs against Tenn and UK. KenPom would have the Gators as favorites at Arky though.

    Anyway, Florida hasn’t yet played a team as good as any of those four, so I wouldn’t be too confident just yet. Now, if the Gators are still undefeated after the game at Arkansas, let the expectations run wild!

    My bet is that UConn drops to 8 or 9 and we rise to 12, so UConn will still be ranked ahead of us - because the pundits are morons and stick to their favorites, no matter how the teams play early in the season

    I wonder if you compared where we were ranked early the season after we won back to back NCs with how UConn is being ranked, my bet is that the pundits are favoring UConn - despite them losing a ton of players too
