https://247sports.com/college/flori...d-brooklyn-florida-am-billy-napier-240529064/ The Florida football program is making a change to its 2025 schedule, multiple sources told Swamp247. The Gators will face Long Island University-Brooklyn to open the 2025 season, and UF will no longer face Florida A&M University, a source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Swamp247. Next season, Florida will face Mississippi State, Tennessee and Texas at home, along with Georgia, which will be held in Jacksonville. On the road, the Gators will travel to Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi and Texas A&M. As for the remainder of UF's non-conference slate, Florida will take on South Florida, Miami (Fl.), and Florida State.
Who in UF admin/UAA has a connection to this school? Seems very random to give such a large payday to.
It was late 70s and I didn't have a ticket and none were available. The FSU band was waiting by a chainlink fence and the whole scene before the game was chaos. I asked a girl in the band if she had a ticket and she gave me her ticket stub. I got in by telling the ticket taker I had to ho back to my car. He let me in so I got a chance to cram in as sit with my friends at FSU. The band had played In the Court of the Crimson King, of all songs. A memorible evening.
So who do we play opening weekend?? (August 30.) Could we actually open w/ an SEC game? That would be strange.
And we play Texas A&M yet again. Seems like we play them every year. The game next year will be the 6th time we have played A&M since they joined the SEC. How many times has Uga played A&M? One.
I like a tune up game. Even the best coach we ever had opened the season with some real stinkers a few times. We didn't play many P5/P4 (whatever) teams in the season openers back then.
