Exactly how do these kids get their rankings. Is it a certain group of coaches or scouts that see them or watch their tape all year. I keep hearing it has a lot to do with how many camps you show up at. How did they decide number 10 from number 20?
Camps, recruiting site agendas, and offers. You’ll see a kid be a mid to low 3* prospect and then Bama/UGA offer them and a week later they’re a top 200 player. Happened countless times. But the most egregious is how rankings change based off camps.
Some of it is purely based on offers but they sure got it right with lagway being a 5 star and Gatorade player of the year!
Don't know how they do it, but it's come a long way since Max Emfinger said, "Emmitt Smith is a lugger not a runner." His career as a recruiting guru essentially died quickly after Emmitt ran all over Bama in his frreshman season.
But then you have Myles Graham in the same class outside the top 100, and you realize the agendas of the analysts who set the grades who are fan boys for certain schools. For example, one of the Gator sites is owned nationally, so there is little effort put into it and the local owned sites generate interest for our rivals sites by pumping the ratings with their people placed in positions to do the grading. It's a business and not objective and not considered a part of the paid subscription nationally, so they feel no need to correct issues.
No need to correct issues....
