I thought this hit deserved its own thread. The hit that Jordan Castell delivered in the first half may go down with the Lawrence and a major hits. In fact, I’m going to put it in the top 3 as far as setting the tone for the game… Spikes on Moreno set the tone for that game and Major Wrights blow on the Oklahoma receiver… (Was it Kenny stills)? Set the tone in the national title game. It looked like the defense was told to set a tone early. It was nice to see that back at Florida football and I think it made Ole Miss receivers think twice for the rest of the game… The tackling on defense is unbelievable… Ole Miss only had 15 yac yards in the second half… Great tackling
It was a great hit. FYI, Major Wright decleated Manny Johnson of the Sooners, who had a very short NFL career, likely due to hearing footsteps while running pass patterns.
I'm sure there is but I just checked YouTube to post it and couldn't find it. Should be in the ESPN highlight video but isn't. Maybe Twitter/X but I'm not great with either.
Who says things like that and believes it? They wanted that game, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise. That last player that missed that "easy" touch down pass had the Sun right in his eyes.
Graat hit and perfectly legal. I can see the zebras callimg it targeting 9/10 times just to disuade such hits, but the replay angles were perfect.
That was a great hit. Though, my all time favorite is still the freight train that Lawrence Wright drove through Joey Kent.
Couldn’t watch the game, Did the targeting call stand on that play? Looked like he came in low enough that they might not have upheld it on replay.
