So what are your thoughts on one of his closest confidants being given a political position? He isn't being asked to make money.
This guy is Trump's token hire of color. Trump picks ex-NFL CB Turner as HUD secretary HUD seems to be the agency of choice for Trump's token Black appointees. In the first Trump Administration Trump's token Black hire Dr. Ben Carson was also the Secretary of HUD, a position for which he was totally unqualified.
In fairness to Trump his pool to pick from is simply a bunch of white people unless he appoints a democrat. Slim picking when your policies suck for America and your language is utterly insulting and demonizing. But he has a gazillion white working class folks to choose from. Let me know when one of them gets in the cabinet.
I think the talk of diversity is distracting from the fact that Trump is assembling this cabinet with the clear goal of finding the people who are most interested in helping the average American. Trump has devoted his life, even pre-politics, to selflessly helping people, and this cabinet clearly reflects that. Seems funny to even say, right? What is interesting, however, is how thoroughly Trump has spread corruption throughout our government and political processes, to the point that when he assembles such a Star Wars bar scene of a cabinet, that includes so many political hacks, unqualified lackeys, and corrupt sycophants........ people hardly bat an eyelash. All one has to do, it seems, is shill for Trump on Fox News, make campaign donations, or lie about his crimes, and that will earn a position of great power which will greatly affect Americans' lives. We'll get what we deserve.
First off, Treasury needs someone who understands business and finance, not someone who has run a government agency or ran a senate campaign. Second, I would say I’m cautiously optimistic.
So George Soros is evil in what he wants to do...until the Donald Trump seal of approval for what he wants to do. Again, this was his guy. One of his closest advisors. It should be noted that he has only really made money working for Soros. Both of his funds lost money. The second one lost a lot of money in a market that has made a ton of money. That is why the whole Soros as the devil thing is entertaining. It gets dropped really quickly when it is convenient (and, I suspect, comes back when it becomes convenient again).
Uh, who’s dropping it???? Aren’t we talking about it here???? Cautiously optimistic shows that I have some concerns that I will be keeping an eye on. Are there any shades of gray in your world or do you just like being black or white when you think you have a “GOTCHA” on someone? Please grow up.
You are dropping it now but saving it for when and if he gets fired as the explanation for why Trump fired him. You are essentially creating a structure for the eventual retcon if it is needed. BTW, you are the one who pulled out the very black and white term of "evil." Pretty much the definition of black and white. Trust me, if Kamala Harris was hiring a very close Soros associate, you wouldn't be trying to figure out why it might actually be a good thing.
Someone with a thought process like yours should not be trying to presume what reasonable people are thinking. I said I was cautiously optimistic. That is not the same nor even close to “trying to figure out why it might actually be a good thing”.
Actually, it is. You are seeing the person you voted for doing something that you would hate if anybody that you didn't vote for did it. And so you are trying to balance how it might be a good thing because Trump hired one of Soros' main confidants with your prior aversion to Soros. That leads you to being "cautiously optimistic." As I pointed out, it also provides you the out for the highly likely event in which Trump decides he doesn't like the guy anymore and fires him.
When you find yourself in a hole, it’s best to stop digging. I don’t know what you do for a living, but if it’s mind reading your not very good at it.
*Former Soros associate* =/= "puppet". (There’s a reason for the 'former', and no one ever said Soros doesn't know money or finances...).
Re DEI vs conservative (tolerance): DEI = hired bc of their diversity, in spite of not being best qualified candy to futher the principles of DEI; Tolerance: hired bc they are best candy, regardless of their color, sexual persuasion, or religion. In this case, apparently the best guy for the job, happens to be gay. The neo-progs took a hard turn left, and right off the rails, when conservatives adopted tolerance --bc their high virtue, is to not what's right, but what distinguishes them from conservatives. (Bc murica = bad, everyone else= saintly, holy, and clean as the wind driven snow...). Which is why ppl like Ted Cruz, Nikki Haley, Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, Tulsi Gabbard, etc et al, do not *qualify* as *ppl of color*. They're conservative--they are therefore *murican*, and therefore EVIL! Cest la vie in Loserville.
