Seems pretty obvious it was run and if we pop one then get more aggressive. The timing of the long run was a bit awkward and thus the result.
A couple of the things Coach Napier said going into the tunnel (to Tate Casey): We have called several shots (downfield) just haven't connected. Up front we need to bloody their noses and make them play the run and not just go after the passer. 14-14 at halftime in SEC football . . .
There is just too much of this indecisive stuff to write it off. He is not organized and is too slow on his feet. Believe me, that just trickles down to everything else. Lagway may or may not save him, but that was just more of the same. Happening too often to feel okay about it.
What was the point of that drive? If the goal was to run out the clock, well um that was an uber fail. If it was to move it down field, again we never threw a pass so you have to get a 1st down to stop the clock.
If Lagway saw a mismatch, he was to run a play, if not take the penalty. Everyone wants Napier to be aggressive until he's aggressive.
You call the time out and hope for a bad punt or a return. You don’t want to press anything if you think you can beat them straight up. You run hoping that one gets broken setting you up for a score. If you don’t break one, then you run the clock out. The thought is to run plays and hope for something to break even if it’s unlikely. People may not like the plan or strategy, but it is a plan.
I would have liked more aggression at the end of the half. They are favored by 11 and their QB was slicing and dicing our secondary. We needed points.
Cmon guys. Billy handled that fine. We get the ball. DJ is hurt. He was sorta stuck in an in between clock situation there. I like aggressive, but not with a lame QB right there.
Padding the rushing stats! 120 rushing yards for UF, 35 for ole miss. The turnover is difference in the game. Let’s go win 2nd half!
Keep the ball out of the nations top offense’s hands. Who go full throttle. Not that hard. And we get the ball to start the half. First half was a Gator win.
