I think so. I don't know the details, so I'm not going to judge. It's easy to get real attached to animals. I would probably resist at first too. But if it was the kid's dog. . . there's no way I'm going there. I still, at times, think about the dog I lost at that age.

 

The one who should face the hardest confirmation is Gabbard. IMO, she has no business being the captain of intelligence. For many reasons.

I was elected to be my fraternity's (SAE) little sister coordinator. The previous coordinator had completely neglected them, they were not showing up for anything. I decided to buy roses for them, go to their respective sorority houses at dinner time and invite them to our next little sister dinner by presenting each one them with a rose, a formal printed invitation and arrangements to be picked up and dropped back off. Most of our little sisters were either Tri Delts or ADPis, so I started there. I went to the 3D house first. I have never seen...to this day...a greater concentration of more beautiful women in one room. It was incredibly awkward. I think I stood there in suit and tie for a full minute trying desperately to regather my thoughts and the first word that came out of my mouth was "Wow!" And actually, that was the only word for another 15 or so seconds. That level of awkwardness served as an icebreaker and I was able to get through the rest of it. Getting up and arguing to a jury is a breeze in comparison.

since we're telling stories on a friday, at one point right after college I lived by the Pittsburgh airport and next door to a hothouse that grew calla lilies. became friends with the owner when I helped him find his dog so I could grab a dozen or so anytime. After being asked several times if they were for me by attractive women when I took some to pick up a friend at the airport, I learned and would take some and go to the airport and hand them out one at a time on a Friday afternoon to incoming with no expectations but lots of opportunity.. it was a fun, and productive, game but nothing so challenging as staring down a whole room full on the defensive. at least with ht ejury you can picture them with their clothes off and not get in trouble...
