Lots of Republicans suddenly think the economy wasn’t that bad after all

But suddenly, over the last month, that’s shifted. You can see it at the very far right of the graph above, that downward shift in “worse off financially” and the upward shift in “about the same.” Among Democrats, views of how they fare now relative to a year ago haven’t changed much in the past month. Among Republicans, though, there’s been a 16-point drop in the percentage saying that they were doing worse a year ago.

Same thing every time. The effect is far stronger with Repubs than Dems. And the effect will only get stronger in the coming months as right-wing media, and Trump, starts telling them how great the economy is doing.

economy is better are elections are fair...amazing, like those SW miracle cure flights where 2/3 of the plane is handicapped getting on and look like OJ sprinting to the Hertz counter getting off.

Poll: Republicans reverse views on economy and election fraud after Trump’s win; much smaller shifts among Democrats

The survey of 1,612 U.S. adults, which was conducted from Nov. 14 to Nov. 18, found that fewer than half of Republicans (48%) now say the economy is getting worse. But immediately before the Nov. 5 election, nearly three-quarters of Republicans (74%) said the economy was going downhill.

    That’s a sudden 26-point shift.

Meanwhile, a mere 13% of Republicans said in a December 2021 Yahoo News/YouGov poll that the 2020 election — which Trump lost to Joe Biden, then tried to overturn — had been free and fair. Last month, just 27% of Republicans predicted this year’s contest would be free and fair.

Yet now that Trump has won, a full 89% of Republicans say the 2024 election cleared that bar.

That's what we're up against. Nearly half the country is totally deluded and unable to handle a reality that is inconvenient to them.

Such a weird dynamic that half this country can’t follow facts and is all about “feelings”.
