Grocery Store Inflation

Prices are rising, which makes everyone look for ways to save money. Sometimes, I want to drop everything and go on a trip with all my savings. It is essential to find ways to distract yourself and save money. It won't solve the inflation problem but will help relieve stress. Such entertainment is precious during challenging times when every penny counts.

 

When I'm in Central Florida I pay far less on groceries than I did several years ago. I switched from Publix (and occasionally Winn Dixie) to Aldi. Frozen pizza is up at Aldi from $2.19 to $3.25 for the cheapest brand but still. $10.95 for a 2 pound bag of frozen salmon. Up from $8.85 or $9.95 for a 2 pound bag a couple of years ago. Many items I buy have stayed pretty cheap. Bag of spinach $1.59 or so for years (4 or 5 b7cks at Winn Dixie, I think.. 24 Oz of thick cut Appleton bacon $6.99 (price has dropped from $7.95 2 years ago). Rack of meaty loin back ribs (labeled "babyback") under $10 last time I bought them. Spaghetti sauce $1.59 for 24oz. A better brand with onions and mushrooms is $1.99. Canned sardines and black beans $1.09 I believe. I think I got a bag of 3 tuna steaks for $5.95 (16 ounces probably). Eggs are usually ~$2.65 or so a dozen. Under 70 cents for a while maybe 3 years ago. Loaf of whole wheat bread under $2. Was ~$1.25 a year or so ago. Mushrooms, onions, blueberries, avocado's, avocado oil really cheap.

German efficiency. Can't come to Vegas soon enough

 

Wrong comparison. How about if you opened your refrigerator and found that 86% of your fruits and vegetables were fresh and affordable? What if 86% of your meats were affordable and delicious? How about if you looked at the top of your house and realized that your entire roof was well-installed AND affordable? And then you realized that Dimwit Donald Trump was about to take these things away from you, in addition to driving up the cost of everything else you buy with high tariffs? A lot of uneducated republicans are about to find out what being poor is all about, and they should not expect any relief from their billionaire grifter friend. I predict those expensive, yet rotten, apples (that had to wait an extra month to get picked) are not going to taste very good.
