Ok.. If you say so. Not seen the reports of such an investigation. Just curious: are one or two death threats ok, not to be worried about? How many would you need before you should worry? And how many would you expect to get? Fifty, sixty?
I was actually thinking about him the other day when I saw the Mighty Chippewas on TV. In retrospect, he was the worst fit of any coaching selection since I started watching Gator games. I saw a video of him at his first practice here and he looked like he was going to die of a heat stroke just standing still. But, hey, he got his salary back up to $1M/year at Central Michigan. Not bad for such a low-pressure job.
No, I don't say so. The entire reporting world said so. Myself, I'm going off of memory. I did a five second google search and came up with about a dozen sources on the matter. Here's one of them: No death threats in Jim McElwain’s emails. Here’s what we found instead Now it's on you. Where is the proof of the death threats? Curious. Are you saying it's OK to make stuff up to be victim? So be careful climbing on your high horse.
Pfftt.. now we trust the media? And their arse reporting? I'm just a person that believes that people do things for a reason. Unless they are crazy. I don't think the man was crazy; it benefited him not. But I don't know, and neither do you. As for me, I don't ride horses. Some people, I am told, ride jackasses. Uf wanted to fire the guy, and they came up with a reason. They wanted to lessen his buyout. I understand this, and don't disagree. But this death threat crap is just that.
There is absolutely no fact to point to to justify that statement. McElwain, with all his warts, has run circles around Napier as a coach. Most will say the East was down in his tenure, but he and Clarabell still went to the SECCG, and had to go to battle with Treon, Appleby and Del Rio after only having Grier for a handful of games.
Cuz he was a coach that was panicking for his job and to try to save his career. He tried to deflect attention and it backfired
I remember he was interviewed on a sports program once and he spent a whole lotta time talking about, and making, a PB&J sandwich. Couldn’t believe he did that.
He got boat raced in the championship and did back in to those games. Its not a forgone conclusion tgat this team wouldnt beat that team.
Blast from the past to see that the Connor Stalion investigation and if he was on the CMU sideline is "still on going". How long does it take to figure out who that guy was who looked like Connor Stalion ...
Good luck to him! Anyone who uses a peanut butter & jelly sammich as their main recruiting tactic never should've been a high level college HC.
