There was an article about raw stat comparisons between the two opponents and they were exclusively in favor of Ole Miss. I mean ugly. Looking at SoS, though, the situation might not be so bleak. According to Sagarin, FL SoS is currently 4th and MS is 44th. CFB Power Index ranks FL's schedule #2 and MS #29. The transitive property doesn't tend to apply in sports, but what about a slightly more comprehensive assessment? Let's look at overall common opponents and results.

    Opponent......MS......FL
    UK.................-3.......+28
    LSU................-3.......+11
    GA.................+18.....-14
    Total..............+12.....+25

It's not totally comprehensive, but the fact is that outside of GA when Lagway went down, the Gators have matched up with common opponents favorably. Hey . . . . .

Henry Parrish (cane transfer) is/was easily their best RB, think he also missed the ga game and is done for the year. With him out, id expect them to throw it around even more, especially with their best WR, tre Harris, back.

Think RedZone efficiency will be key. Somewhat similar to the lsu game, with a bend but don't break, hold them to FGs. No blown coverage and easy scores like Texas game.
I think we can get after Dart with pressure since their O-line has looked suspect at times. However, we'll need to do a better job of containing a mobile QB than we've shown thus far.

Maybe we can get ourselves "up there". You know, like "them":

    Hey, it could happen...eventually.

RB rotation is intriguing with Johnson off the injury list on senior day and Baugh and Jackson playing so well.

Well, here’s hoping it made it to the team and makes the OL determined to be an invincible wall for him.

What’s up with Asa? Had high hopes for him. Is it season ending injury?

I would prefer to say "ironic" vice "funny" but I don't think that's what he meant. Of course they'll try to hit Lagway as hard as they can - that's football.

I still think Johnson is our best all-around back. Unless he is limited in some way I think he should start.

I actually prefer Jackson in, but against this DL, I would only want the best blocker of them in the game, and that is probably Johnson and Baugh ,and the yards per rush less for them than Jackson is not all that significant. We just can't be going negative on 1st and 2d down from penalties, sacks or tfl.

Sometimes the best RB that day is a question of style and how the OL vs DL matchup is going. Sometimes a patient back like Johnson has an advantage. Other times you need a back that hits it up in there quick particularly when the O-line is struggling with maintaining their blocks long enough.

When Lane brought Tennessee to BHG stadium, as he entered the tunnel at halftime, he issued a ‘single finger salute’ to Gator fans.

That’s why I wouldn’t want to hire him.

We should do the same to him when he goes in and out of the tunnel.
