Glad he has dropped out. Now please assure me it is not possible for him to un-resign from Congress.

Next: Please give me MTG for AG with similar results.

Todd Blanche will almost certainly be Trump's backup and unlike Gaetz he's well qualified for the position of AG and doesn't have any of Gaetz' baggage. If Trump nominates him his confirmation should sail through the Senate with at least 60 to 70 votes possibly more.

According to some commentators Gaetz could end up back in the House come January. His resignation was effective for the current session of Congress. He was reelected and could be seated when the new session of Congress commences in January.

doesn’t mean that he was guilty just means that he or Trump decided to go in a different direction he could still serve because he was elected to be sworn in in January so it means absolutely nothing other than you get all giddy because you think you got rid of a guy that was going to go after liberals Trump will nominate another attack dog and then y’all can get apoplectic about that as well

was just listening to Bill O’Reilly- he says The Trump team asked Gaetz to opt out and that Trump will now nominate Pam Bondi from the state of Florida

    Link?

Never mind, it's like asking for a link when someone says water is wet.

He already resigned from the House. Is he totally screwed now?

You defended a pedo for nothing lol. If you had any credibility to begin with you would have lost it. There are plenty of attack dogs out there, most of them arent sex traffickers, but the next president likes sex creeps because he is one.

If Gaetz returns to Congress, it likely means the House Report gets released. I think this is what Gaetz is trying to avoid. More likely Gaetz gets a cushy job as a lobbyist for something very pro-Trump.

Right-wing media rush to defend Matt Gaetz against reports of sexual misconduct with a 17-year-old

Fortunately for him there is a news network known for employing right-wing pundits with questionable sexual ethics (until they get sued)

I think it’s funny that y’all just automatically assume the gates is guilty if the department of justice could not find reason to move forward and trust me they hate Republicans. They would’ve done so if there was anything there there then it’s like spitting in the wind that he’s out doesn’t bother me in the least, preferred Pam in the first place

I am looking forward, then, to the ethics committee finishing their report so that it can be released and the American people can make their own independent assessments of the nature of Representative Gaetz' character and behavior.

In the meantime, I would suggest anyone with daughters who are Girl Scouts direct their cookie sales efforts elsewhere.

According to one report the woman with whom Gaetz had sexual encounters when she was 17 was prepared to testify if requested. Also there was a good chance that two other women who knew the girl at the time were also prepared to testify. Personally I think that Blanche would be a better choice than Bondi although she does have two factors in her favor. First, she was one of the attorneys who represented Trump before the Senate in his first impeachment, as Florida AG she dropped the case against Trump University for defrauding its "students" interestingly after receiving an illegal campaign contribution from the now defunct Trump Foundation and knowing Trump she also has this in her favor.

As I said earlier on this thread, the DOJ is there to protect the powerful, not put them in jail, so that really has nothing to do with it. I assume he's guilty because he was dumb enough to make his venmo transactions public. He's just stupid, probably because his daddy has always bailed him out of anything he's ever done. Anyways, enjoy debasing yourself for the next morally compromised creep Trump surrounds himself with.
