See, this is how out of touch you are. Here is the breakdown by Party ID. You and the other far lefties loved Twitter/X when it was an echo chamber. Tough luck...

Just shows Dems leaving Twitter due to all the garbage, spam and hate speech. And it's just getting worse for Elon.

Over the past two weeks, as Elon Musk has carved out a central role for himself in the Trump administration, people have been fleeing X in droves. More than a quarter million users deleted their accounts after Election Day — and more than a million people joined the site's upstart competitor Bluesky. Like worried liberals threatening to decamp for Canada or Europe, ex-Xers are heading for bluer pastures.

They set out to help people leave Twitter. Now they can't keep up with demand.

That might be true about user demographics, but X algorithms are still curated content. It is perhaps a more sinister echo chamber with a confirmation bias (ex your X post).

THFSG doesn’t have an algorithm feeding you an echo chamber. IMO, this place might challenge perceptions and ideas more than X.

I am actually pretty pleased with bluesky. A decent number of the celebs and reporters I follow are there. Blocking trolls seems easier for posters although I don’t really post. Only gripe is that it doesn’t embed well yet here, just like TikTok doesn’t. But other than that.

Shocking that someone who only wants an echo chamber is happy they went to said echo chamber...

And now you love it because it's a right-wing echo chamber. Way to raise the bar!

Also, about 1/2 to 1/3 of Rush Limbaugh's audience were Democrats. Outrage Anglers love landing fish!

Actually about 30% of my X feed is left leaning, since I align with quite a few left leaning policies. But good effort at the drive by...

Just playing your game pal. Personally, never waisted my time with the crap app that is Twitter. Plus, as a man, there is just something inherently . . . about that name. Sorry, but "tweeting" is not in this guys' playbook. But I'm sure you're well schooled at it.

I've only sent one tweet in my life. I use it as a news source and pass time scrolling when I'm bored. According to my phone I only spend 12-15 minutes a day on it so at least I'm not an addict.

    "News source"

Nice! Gives me so much faith in the future of our country that what amounts to digital graffiti is now considered "news" or actual political discourse. And now we have TicTok and can only anticipate what kind of vapidity we get next. If we're lucky, we should be able to whittle the average attention span down to a full second by 2030. And who knows what the future holds? Milliseconds?

    Winning!

What, are you going to watch The View for your news LOL. X/Twitter is the best place for breaking news still. And I my X/Twitter feed is mostly UF/college football/BBQ/silly dog videos LOL. But for breaking news, I don't think another site is better.

Only thing I watch on legacy TV is live sports, or maybe sports talk shows in the background while I work in the office. If you want real information, you have to search for it. I look at a lot of different things from all over the world, none of which would interest you because it isn't wrapped up in emotional rhetoric. You're the guy who can't sit through anything longer than 5 minutes (the one the algorithms were made for). I'm the guy who looks for the 5 Hour documentary or conference keynote address on one specific topic.

    Enjoy your "Twitter" Missy.

I think the next post that isnt a straight up lie by you will be the first. I am not interested in giving Elon Musk clicks. I just said I dont post shit so I dont need to block folks on twitter or bluesky. I am still tolerating your ridiculousness here which is a perfect example of tolerating trolls.

Although that was posted on X/Twitter today, I strongly suspect that the data was indicating that the platform is balanced is based on a survey months ago. That being said by the end of the year the percentage of Democrats who rely on X/Twitter will be far smaller than the percentage of Republicans and in case the trend wasn't obvious from the posted data.

What is Bluesky and why are so many people suddenly leaving X for the platform?

Twitter is fine for news since it is where NYT and a bunch of legitimate news sources post things but randos are not a great source, Ill give you that. Most social media is curated to what you interact with. I get nothing on TikTok but hiking videos, cooking videos, movie reviews, science fiction book recommendations, and comedians. It knows i like ranking and rating videos too: "Top 10 movies about dogs who save the day" or some other random ranking.

TicTok is evil. Sorry, but all the stats I've seen with regards to its effect on kids are appalling. But hey, it's making a lot of people a LOT of money, so . . . All good baby!!! Even Trump flipped like a pancake when the scumbags threw some money at him.

There is nothing you can do on TicTok that you can't do on YouTube . . . outside of support CCP malfeasance.

And, to be honest, I took a pledge from Day 1 never to use it. EVER. You could smell what was coming with the 140 character limit. Basically, the digital version of the dive-bar bathroom wall. To hear that this trash was "America's Town Hall" was a true moment of sadness. How does a society ever survive that kind of dumbing down? And every new iteration (TicTok) just gets more and more vapid and awful.
