(GYM) Gymnastics 2024 - 2025

2025 recruits national signing starts on Wednesday, 11/13.

Three are expected to sign with UF:

Jocelyn Sasson, 5 stars on College Gym Fans and College Gym News, is capable of performing all around. According to College Gym News, Jocelyn had an issue with self confidence in the past, but she transferred from the Northwest to Brandy Johnson's Gymnastics and nothing more has been reported on this. She does show scores this year competing as an all arounder.

Madelyn Dorbin, 5 stars on College Gym Fans and College Gym News, is a highflyer on floor and will likely be performing on bars and beam. We'll have to wait to see what she is bringing to vault.

Amelia Disidore, 4.5 stars on College Gym Fans and 4 stars on College Gym News, is a bit of a mystery over the last year. Amelia is UF gymnast Gabby Disidore's sister. In 2023, Amelia was on the US Senior National Team. Her number of performances dropped off significantly in the last year which leads me to think she may be coming off injury although I don't know that to be the case. Until the last year, Amelia was performing all around, lots of videos from 2022 and 2023. We'll just have to wait and see what she brings to UF. Gabby was consistently in the bars lineups as a freshman.

There are several 2025 class 3-star gymnasts not committed elsewhere who could come in to help on specific events in the 2026 season. I just can't see this happening. It would be a surprise if UF signs another freshman.

I do see UF looking into the transfer portal for help in 2026 as UF with these 3 signing will only have 15 gymnasts for the 2026 season.

EDIT: UF is up to 16 with the surprise addition of Ly Bui.

This is a terrific surprise pickup:

US Senior National Team Member. Ly scored 14.100 on vault and 13.400 on bars in the 2024 US Championships. She did not compete on beam or floor. Ly is world class on vault and bars and scores good on beam and floor, lower 12s.

The picture above shows Ly as 4 stars on College Gym News, but CGN shows her now as 5 stars. Ly is rated 4.5 stars on College Gym Fan.

UF is lucky to pick up a quality talent like Ly as a surprise signing on national signing day.

 

CJR hasn't announced her signings on floridagators.com yet so I'm fairly certain UF is still expecting Amelia Disidore to sign today.

With the surprise addition of Ly Bui, the 2025 recruiting class has turned into an outstanding class in terms of numbers and talent.

Mother Sonya Disidore says she will be glad to see her daughters back together again soon.

Amelia is in line with the type of gymnasts CJR has been recruiting. Need to look back to 2023 to see her potential:

That's 8th with lots of names you will recognize on the list. Clearly, Amelia's potential is very high.

Again, Amelia was in with a lot of recognized names, a lot of Gators.

I'm not sure what brought her to St. Thomas Aquinas, but UF's write up shows STA as the school of her graduation.

 

What a terrific class! That's two 5-star gymnasts, one 4.5/5-star gymnast, and a 4/4.5-star gymnast based on ranking at College Gym Fan and College Gym News. I don't know how this class will rank in College Gym News class of 2025 rankings because of the surprise addition of 5-star Ly Bui on signing day.

It was kind of funny over on Tiger Droppings Gymnastics Recruiting. They immediately noticed when UF picked up Ly Bui as another 5-star gymnast in the 2025 class. It was like "Oh Man!"

UF will stack the highly ranked 2026 class of 4 on top of the class of 2025.

With rosters being allowed to go up to 20 in women's gymnastics, look for a few pleasant transfers along the way for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

The new ranking will be released on 11/30/2024.

Current Ranking as of 10/31/2024:

1. Oklahoma
2. Arkansas
3. LSU
4. Florida

This was before the surprise signing of Ly Bui by UF.

My view of who the top 4 should be on 11/30 with no further changes:

1. Florida - With the addition of Ly Bui, the Gators should move up to #1 signing three 5 stars & one 4 star.

2. Oklahoma - I have OU dropping to 2nd even though they signed the #1 & #2 gymnasts in the 2025 class, three 5 stars & one 4 star.

3. Arkansas - Five gymnast class is the only reason to have the piggies at #3 over LSU.

4. LSU - Excellent class signing three 5 stars, but only 3 signed.

Keep in mind that College Gym News has a bias for Oklahoma in their coverage. CGN awards brownie points for gymnasts with higher rating scores as set by them. Signing the top 2 rated gymnasts in the class gets those brownie points for OU.

The Sooners have the #1 and #3 rated gymnasts in the 2026 class. Presley Duke, the #1 gymnast by a wide rating score, hasn't had the national or international experience that our 2026 gymnasts have to justify that lofty rating. She has being from Oklahoma plus a commitment to OU to thank for her exceptional rating score. Madray Johnson, the #3 rated gymnast, has better experience than Presley Duke. Johnson is the only one in OU's 2026 class that is in the same circles with the four in UF's 2026 class.

I'll take any of UF's 2026 committed gymnasts as they have been tested under national and/or international meet conditions. Xfinity US Gymnastic Championships 2024:

OU with 7 commitments will get CGN's #1 2026 class ranking and brownie points when it drops. UF in 2026 is getting the experience and proven talent.

I'm biased for UF, so I have the Gators as the #1 class in both 2025 and 2026. If College Gym News can have their OU bias, I can have my UF bias. Bottom line is UF is stacking 2 outstanding classes on top of each other in 2025 and 2026.

11. Presley Duke - College Gym News #1 by a wide CGN determined score is 11th on the Super 16 list and isn't even the highest rated OU gymnast.

That is one more in the Super 16 than UF, but if giving accurate brownie points for higher rankings, they should go to UF, not OU. That would make UF the #1 2026 recruiting class on College Gym News. However, don't hold your breath thinking CGN isn't going to show their bias for Oklahoma as they usually always do.

 

Gators to have 6 regular season meets televised. Besides the 6 televised meets, 2 meets will also be on SEC Network+, 1/10 and 3/14.

If I were a bettor, I would bet UF at Alabama on 3/7 at least gets shown on SEC Network+.

I'm also thinking the tri-meet at West Virginia with UF and Utah on Sunday 2/2 gets picked up by FS1 or FS2 as Fox Sports has television rights with the Big 12. UF schedule shows it as dual meet at WVU, but both WVU and Utah show it as a tri-meet on their schedules.

Six 2025 Gator Gymnastics Regular-Season Meets Televised - Florida Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – ESPN's most expansive season of collegiate gymnastics coverage includes six Gator gymnastics regular-season meets airing on ESPN2 or SEC Network in 2025.

Two duals appearing on ESPN2 includes the Gators.

• SEC and road action begins Jan. 17 with a dual at defending NCAA champion LSU
• Florida travels to Norman, Okla., to face Oklahoma for the first SEC dual between the two perennial power programs on Feb. 21

Southeastern Conference gymnastics action is back on the SEC Network in 2025. The SEC Network showcases action with 21 live meets in 2025 – including both sessions of the SEC Championships.

Four Gator regular-season meets air live on the SEC Network:

• The only Friday Night Heights triple-header of 2025 kicks off Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m. when Georgia visits Florida.
• Florida starts off two Friday Night Heights double-headers – Jan. 27 at Arkansas (7 p.m.) and Feb. 28 versus Missouri (6 p.m.)
• The Feb. 14 Gators Link to Pink meet with Auburn (8:30 p.m.) closes a SEC Network Valentine's Day double-header

The 24/7 sports network launched in August of 2014 and operated by ESPN, has grown the coverage of collegiate gymnastics from 10 live events in 2015 to an all-time high of 21 live events in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and again in 2025.

April 17 NCAA Championships' semifinal competition airs on ESPN2 at 4:30 and 9 p.m. ET. The NCAA team final again lands on ABC on Saturday, April 19 at 4 p.m. ET.

College Gym News released their 2025 recruiting class rankings a week early:

As covered in post #133, CGN's Oklahoma bias shows through. Outside of CGN, UF has the more highly thought of gymnasts:



We calculated these rankings with a formula that uses a gymnast’s total points from our recruit ratings system, as well as other metrics largely based on USA Gymnastics level 10 scores for unrated gymnasts. The formula aimed for a balance of quality and quantity so that a class of seven gymnasts would not necessarily be ranked higher than a class of three. In past years we have only included gymnasts who were announced as signees by their future school or who we could confirm held ceremonial signings on or after National Signing Day, but with the abandonment of the National Letter of Intent program, we have decided to include some athletes who are clearly still committed but have not yet signed to their programs. This particularly applies to international athletes who may not have the tradition of holding ceremonial signings at their club gyms. All signees from last week are counted, including those who will graduate early and join their teams this January. For a full list of who signed, see our tracker. These rankings are as of Nov. 22, 2024 and will not be updated in this article after this date.

The team in the CGN top 5 that surprises me is Ohio State. Michigan, Minnesota, and Michigan State typically lead the B1G. College Gym Fans doesn't think as highly of Ohio State's class signing of 5, CGN average = 4 stars & CGF average = 3.5 stars. It'll be interesting to see the impact of these gymnasts in Ohio State's 2026 season.

 

New Orleans to Host US Gymnastics Championships 2025:

New Orleans to host 2025 U.S. Gymnastics Championships

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (November 21, 2024) – The premier gymnastics event in the country will head to New Orleans in 2025. The U.S. Gymnastics Championships and the USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show will be hosted in the Crescent City August 7-10, USA Gymnastics and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation announced Thursday.

Held at the Smoothie King Center August 7-10, the Championships will feature the country’s best junior and senior men’s and women’s gymnasts as they compete for national titles and vie to make the U.S. National Team, from which the roster for the 2025 World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, ultimately will be selected. More than 2,500 attendees and exhibitors will take part in the accompanying National Congress and Trade Show from August 8-10 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

 

So it begins, the start of the deluge of predictions for an LSU/Oklahoma showdown:

2025 NCAA Women's Season Preview! 5 Storylines To Follow

They might be right; we'll see in 2 months:

Oklahoma’s Comeback
SEC Loading! Last season, Oklahoma was the definition of domination. They earned a score of over 198 twelve times and finished the season ranked first on every event besides floor, where they ranked second. The Sooners entered the National Championships expecting to defend their national title for the third consecutive time, but after multiple falls on vault and beam, they were eliminated in the semi-final. On paper, the team should easily have the opportunity to return to the top, including the return of fifth-year Audrey Davis, and seniors Jordan Bowers and Faith Torrez. They’ll also be introducing 2020 Olympic Trials qualifier Addison Fatta and five star recruit according to CGN Elle Mueller.

The Sooners should also once again be able to produce some of the highest scores of the season, but will they be able to put behind the disappointment of last year’s National Championships? We say a huge “yes” to that and expect they’ll be back better than ever.

Their schedule is stacked as the six-time National Champs compete in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) for the first time in 2025 and they”ll be featured seven times on the ESPN family of networks during the 2025 regular season. The slate includes the highly anticipated Sprouts Farmer’s Market Collegiate Quad which takes place in Oklahoma City in 2025.

LSU’S Rise
Got there! LSU is coming off a history making 2024 season. After coming close so many times, the Tigers won their first National title. With the Sooners out, the door was open in the National final, and LSU bounced right through. Focused on their season theme “Get There” the LSU became only the 8th program ever to win the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics National Championship. Having placed second four times and a top contender and favorite for the win for years, tremendous energy and excitement lit up the entire arena as the Tigers entered the history books on top.

LSU enters the 2025 season with most of their roster returning. Fifth-year Haleigh Bryant, senior Aleah Finnegan, sophomores Konnor McClain and Amari Drayton will all return. They also gain a star-studded freshman class including World Champion Lexi Zeiss, Olympic alternate Kaliya Lincoln and five star recruit according to CGN Kailin Chio. These gymnasts will help LSU maintain strong lineups across all four events. With a loaded roster, LSU’s biggest challenge may be maintaining their status with the added pressure of being national champions. They’ve proven over and over their ability to rise under every adversity, and we expect they’ll be right there to make another run for the title.

LSU and Oklahoma will have the opportunity to compete against each other twice in the regular season. On Jan. 11 at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad and in a dual meet on Feb. 14.
