But the jury verdict is not the end of the judicial proceeding. You still have to be sentenced.

Yes. The language I use there is "The judge sentenced the man to four years in prison."

    Sorry? I was just asking.

Would you say that he's a criminal?

That's not correct. Normally, after the jury renders the verdict the judge adjudicates the defendant guilty and sets off sentencing. Clearly under Florida Statute 775.13 he is a convicted felon and he was required by law to register as such with the sheriff of Palm Beach County within 48 hours of his return. If he did not register, he committed a misdemeanor.

    Relevant portion of the statute:
775.13 Registration of convicted felons, exemptions; penalties.—
    (1) As used in this section, the term “convicted” means, with respect to a person’s felony offense, a determination of guilt which is the result of a trial or the entry of a plea of guilty or nolo contendere, regardless of whether adjudication is withheld.
    (2) Any person who has been convicted of a felony in any court of this state shall, within 48 hours after entering any county in this state, register with the sheriff of said county, be fingerprinted and photographed, and list the crime for which convicted, place of conviction, sentence imposed, if any, name, aliases, if any, address, and occupation. If the felony conviction is for an offense that was found, pursuant to s. 874.04, to have been committed for the purpose of benefiting, promoting, or furthering the interests of a criminal gang, the registrant shall identify himself or herself as such an offender. The Department of Law Enforcement, in consultation with appropriate local law enforcement agencies, may develop standardized practices for the inclusion of gang affiliation at the time of offender registration.
    (3) Any person who has been convicted of a crime in any federal court or in any court of a state other than Florida, or of any foreign state or country, which crime if committed in Florida would be a felony, shall forthwith within 48 hours after entering any county in this state register with the sheriff of said county in the same manner as provided for in subsection (2).

And Florida law. FS 775.13. Somebody in Palm Beach County needs to find out if he registered with the sheriff as a convicted felon within 48 hours. If not he committed a misdemeanor and violated the conditions of his presentencing release.

Nope. Not just liberal lawyers, smart liberal lawyers.. I tried to warn you righties that the op lacked a gasp of the facts, issues and applicable law. I even cited the federal statute above that he completely ignored. Bet he didn't even bother to go read it. Oops.

Lacks evidence doesn't mean non-citizens were not part of the illegal ballots being counted in the democrat counties. I think Elon Musk has a good handle of what was transpiring as he spent weeks in Pennsylvania helping Trump to turn the state red. Politifact? Just calling BS when I see it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and here and guess you didn't read the briefs of the parties much less the appellate court's order. Had you done, you might understand more why the Pubs lost this appeal and would be popping off less with all this illegal ballot nonsense.

Politifact has no credibility as it is "aligned" with the Poynter Institute in St Pete .... one of the most profoundly subjective biased "media entities" in existence. It's basically the old St Pete which was an extremely liberal paper.

The $1 million dollar recount is on. The final difference BEFORE the stoppage of the counting of the illegal ballots is 16,322. Historically, recounts make a difference when the margin is small.

    Candidates Party Votes Pct.
    David McCormick
    GOP 3,398,395 48.8%
    Bob Casey Jr. *
    DEM 3,382,073 48.6%
    John Thomas
    LIB 89,586 1.3%
    Leila Hazou
    GRE 66,305 1%
    Marty Selker
    CONST 23,609 0.3%
    Total 6,959,968
    * Incumbent

Since nobody is watching the recount, you can bet the democrat counties are going to recount the illegal ballots that they already had in the totals, approximately 23,400, nobody to enforce the removal that I know of. The lead was 39,700 when the illegal ballots started to be added in the democrat counties.

Bob Casey Jr. trying to steal his seat back has ruined any chance he had at reentering Pennsylvania politics, well maybe if he runs for dog catcher. By midterms, the state will likely be 50:50 democrat to republican. Obviously, the Pennsylvania independents break right.

There you go. Just because there’s zero evidence of something doesn’t mean you can’t claim it’s true. That kind of opens the discussion board to anything, doesn’t it?

And, btw, what exactly was illegal about the ballots?

You really don't have a clue. The republicans won their case at the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. I have no idea what you think is important, but I do know the court stopped the counting of said illegal ballots, the steal. Apparently, you desire to argue in the weeds so have at it.

PolitiFact has no proof of fact for their conclusion. Again, I trust Elon Musk far more than some leftist rag as has been pointed out by others.

Just read the whole thread since you haven't kept up. I don't intend to discuss 2 and 3 times over for your individual benefit. Reading is your best friend.

I'm not trying to be difficult. I posted in an earlier thread an example of what Marc Elias and Bob Carey Jr. were in court arguing for to be counted. The court had already ruled against these illegal ballots under Pennsylvania law back in September. The democrat counties gave the Pennsylvania Supreme Court the middle finger salute.

I have no doubt that democrat counties only counting illegal votes in dark blue cities is one way of affecting election outcomes. I have no proof, but there is proof that it so easily happened in Pennsylvania, like water off a duck's back.

The $1 million dollar recount today should not be happening except for the illegal ballots already in the Pennsylvania totals. As I pointed out above, there is nobody, no poll station watchers, to ensure those illegal ballots are removed from the count.

At this point, I'm not sure if Marc Elias is through with trying to steal the seat in the courts. He has done it before in Minnesota. He can't win the recount, but he has the legal right to question blocks of ballots. In this event, so should the republicans on the 22,400 illegal ballots already in the total of votes. If it comes down to a court battle over the seat, the courts will decide with the republicans.

I think the governor of Pennsylvania should have to pay for the $1 million dollar recount as he didn't lift a finger to stop the steal until after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling. He is of questionable honesty and integrity now. I hope the voters of the nation remember where Josh Shapiro stood prior to the ruling, with the lawbreakers. The US does not need anyone like him holding higher office.

I certainly do. So does a panel of appellate court judges in Pennsylvania, apparently.

It is so frustrating with these people, you even tell them where to start looking and they won't...it doesn't fit the narrative or the thread title, I guess.

Why should I read an appellate court when the decider is the supreme court?
