How far in school did you go? She graduated from a Stetson level law school and passed the California Bar, so I'm going to say she is more than "remotely intelligent." I will also add that I am a superior position to make that assessment.

I really can't get past the notion that some folks think a law degree from a mid-tier law school followed by a career in government is a hallmark of intelligence.

True story: my wife - who has a law degree from a top-20 law school - left her position as a partner in a boutique firm in DC to take a position as a senior county attorney in Virginia in order to have more personal time when our first child was born. She left that job primarily because she couldn't tolerate working with the other government attorneys who were - by and large - low-motivation, clock-punching morons. She's now the CLO of a publicly-traded company.

 

Yes and a leading contender for Low-information Voter Thread of the Year. Could also be honorable mention for Election Butthurt Thread of the Year, but there are many that are better.

 

I do hate the fact that I wasted my time on it, but at least I didn't pay for it. (Employer did)

I would say that my background in statistics is useful as a business owner, but nothing beyond the first 4 statistics classes at UF are really relevant on a day-to-day basis.

It's crazy that I can still remember my very first stats class at Little Hall.
