This has been explained to you so many times it is now like slamming one's head against the wall. DOJ would have indicted if they thought they had a very high likelihood of conviction. They hate to lose, especially a very high profile case. To say they had "nothing" is laughably incorrect. When the report and supporting evidence is released, people of normal sensibilities will no longer be protesting his innocence.
Show me where the historical bar for prosecution by the DOJ is merely based on the credibility of the evidence and not likely outcome.
Those defending trump here, explain to me how it is not a leader defense reflex. Ask yourself why you have this need to justify his choice and shield him from criticism. Can he make a mistake? As others have pointed out, Gaetz is not the most qualified in experience or expertise to serve as Attorney General for us citizens. Given this, his nomination is to serve trump's needs and not the people's.
I assume you are talking to me. Please 'reply' to my statement in the future so I don't have to log out to see if you are replying to someone else. It is only polite Strength of the evidence only one of the factors in likelihood of conviction.
Imagine being a grown man and being so ecstatic over the election of the criminal Trump that you GIF-spam a political message board......with stuff like this ^. Edit : (or that below. "little lady." Sad.)
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/11/20/gaetz-investigation-house-ethics-committee-vance/ House Ethics Committee investigators probing sexual misconduct allegations against former congressman Matt Gaetz obtained records showing that he paid more than $10,000 to two women who testified before the committee, according to a person familiar with the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive material. The records that were exhibited during closed-door testimony displayed 27 PayPal and Venmo payments disbursed between July 2017 and January 2019 totaling over $10,000 paid to the two witnesses, that person said. Some of the payments were for sex, the witnesses testified to the committee. ABC News first reported on the exhibits. The details come as Vice President-elect JD Vance attempted to shore up Gaetz’s imperiled path to running the Justice Department and just before members of the House Ethics Committee were expected to gather Wednesday afternoon to decide whether to release their findings.
Do you want to know how bad the House Ethics Committee report on Gaetz is? They could come to no agreement on whether to release it (weird way to express this). That’s how bad it is and how spineless Republicans are now.
