Man I went to the Miami game. I can’t go back. That left such a horrible taste in my mouth, I want him gone until he wins. I could be proven wrong, but I also think you can’t pass up on a hot coach like Kiffin, and pairing him with VB3 Lagway Baugh etc
I’m not bashing the kids. This is clear. I’m bashing people being excited over flipping a three star from a dumpster fire school three weeks out from ESD, to give us a top thirty class. Reducing it to “bashing the individual” is such a lame excuse to look past all of the points I just said. To me, this is obvious.
UGA dropped this kid because they have a kid sitting the bench, who's even lower rated that Shivers. They stole him from us a year ago.
We’re all busy in life and Mods are no different. Thanks for coming here to clean up. As ESD approaches, we need not be the reason a recruit’s family gets a bad taste in their mouth. Individuals like said poster can do harm when curious eyes come along. Thank you!
Good loud cried that was electric but there were not 90k+ fans. That was the # of tickets sold. Hasn’t been “packed” all year contrary to announced crowd. Attendance maybe 80k. North end zone Sunshine seats 75%, holes in student section, LSU section not full and several unused seats in Section 5&7 near mine.
The announced attendance was 90,067 for the game. Attendance and tickets sold are not the same. You really think there were 80,000 in attendance? Your guess means nothing compared to the electronic gate count.
I don’t think they release the electronic gate count. The announced attendance numbers are usually closer to the sold amount than the scanned amount. Google says roughly 75% on average.
The electronic gate count in announced attendance includes everyone inside the stadium from fans to vendors and media. The game was sold out. That number is the same for every sellout as the number of seats doesn’t change. My source for this information is a friend who works in college athletics offices.
24th on On3 with only 15 commits 2 of which are kicker//punter (really good too) frenchie, Thomas, Dice, Wilson. All still out there and with heavy interest in UF. A week ago we were in the 50's and you were saying the class will be historicaly bad. Now were are top 25 on On3 and you are saying that's where we will end up? Do you not see the upward trend? The sudden surge in recruiting after a couple weeks of crickets ? We're gonna have a strong finish to this class. But we can agree to disagree.
CBN has yet to finish with a bad class and you're already writing this class off? It's not even ESD let alone NSD or portal window and you've packed it in.
Yeah man, we shot up like that because of how historically bad it was. I’ll be happy to eat crow if Napier out of no where somehow pulls about 10 more high 4 star/5 stars like regular classes should be.
Portal isn’t for recruiting. Norvell has proven that. You can get some key pieces but I’m very against using the portal for the bulk of the class. He also hasnt ever been in this type of hole this close to ESD. Last year we went backwards the closer we got to ESD
Norvell is a bad example. He went portal heavy bc he couldn't recruit a HS QB or WR to save his life. Maybe look at Lane at ole miss for the best example, he worked the portal for damn near his entire QB room, RB and some WR among other positions and did just ok with HS recruiting. Find your core in the HS ranks and solidify the class with portal guys like Badger, ja'kaiJackson, Dike, George Gumbs, Cam Jackson etc. But we already have 15 commits, plus more coming and bolster a primarily young roster. How many open schollys do you think we have available? The portal will be full of some talented plug and play guys that you will want to have a spot for.
My last comment on this because it's clear we are going to have to agree to disagree. You disregard what a few of us have already written when you continue to claim the class was so bad and therefore the reason for the jump. That's simply not true. The class was so small which is the reason for the jump. Call it semantics but it's accurate. Adding 3s and 4s to a class of 2s and 3s wouldn't jump a large class if that's what we had. By force or by choice we have been more selective instead of taking flyers on several kids most likely because of the portal which speaks to the next point. The foundation of the team is already here and young. They are getting invaluable experience this year. A few portal plugs isn't the same thing as what fsu did. It's actually what Miami did and to a lesser extent what we did as well. Badger, Dike, Bridges, BCD and others are massively significant to the team this year. Won't always he that fortunate to hit on so many but it is a significant part of roster building today. Again, I'm not gonna take pot shots at you but you would be better off seeing some positivity out of the situation you can't change regardless...
This pretty much sums up my thoughts about this season in general. And there's especially no need to harp on the negative things you can't change in a welcome thread for a new commit. Some people are just miserable and want to make sure other people are, too.
Looks like a decent pick up from Palm Beach County. Star rankings are less reliable for OL than other positions. Frame, work ethic and coaching make a big difference. He's got the frame and the staff must think he's coachable.
