To the brothers on this site that are suffering with ailments like Growl, Lacuna, Dogfanfromalabama and others, I hope our prayers and the positive shift on the field is healing for all. If nothing else, it's gotta bring a smile to your faces. Smiles are good.:D

    Go Gators:)

maybe not, I read early on that they are not deep and getting them late season might be beneficial to the Gators if they have injuries.

    Anyone know their injury situation?

Looking good... for them. From SI (Lane Kiffin Provides Injury Update on Star WR Tre Harris, Other Key Ole Miss Rebels)

Specifically, Kiffin said during media availability on Monday that he expects star wide receiver Tre Harris to be able to suit up and go against Florida this weekend. Harris has not played since the Rebels lost to LSU in October, but he still leads the SEC in receiving yards and will provide a nice boost to an Ole Miss offense that has seemingly found a groove in recent weeks.

"I think we are peaking at the right time. I do think that we're playing really well right now, which is exciting to be playing well at the end of the season," Kiffin said. "I think we're getting stronger, and Tre now looking like he's ready to go. ... Over that time, I think Jaxson [Dart] has led the country in passing without him. Really excited to get the best receiver in the country back."

Kiffin is also optimistic about the Rebels' health on other fronts, namely the offensive line. It's also possible that running back Logan Diggs is working towards a return after not having played yet in an Ole Miss uniform due to an ACL injury he suffered last season with LSU.

"It's the first time our O-line, first and second string, has been fully healthy and practicing, and Logan Diggs is doing the most that he's done," Kiffin said. "A lot of times as a team, you're struggling at the end of the year health-wise, but we're in the best shape we have been all year long."

Yes. Also, I think where Ole Miss differs from LSU is that the Ole Miss QB is mobile and is a threat to take off when necessary. Nussmeier is immobile, and that allowed us to pummel him.

That is going to be a challenge for us defensively.

Still, we can beat them; Kentucky and LSU did.

The Ole Miss Defense is ranked 17th in the nation.
Their offense is ranked 2nd in the nation.
The Ole Miss Offense (Passing and Running) are balanced/complimentry.

The UF Defense is ranked 85th in the nation.
The UF Offense is ranked 79th in the nation.

Since the UF season has been on of many ups and downs (including injuries),
I feel that their rankings do not display how good the team really is.
I believe this team is better than what the stats indicate.

As for the game this Saturday:
    • This game is at The Swamp. The stadium will be packed the the Gator fans will be more than just vocal. Uf has the advantage.
    • A healthy Lagway and the growth of the offense will give the Ole Miss Defense a hard time.
    • I feel that Ole Miss Defense has an edge here but not a decisive one. The Gator Offense will need to create some big plays (both passing and running). Also, the will need to eat up the clock and or have multiple fast scores.
    • The Florida Defense still has a lot of guys banged up. As of today the Defense has 4 players (3 of them are DB's) in the Questionable status for this game. Hopefully there will be a lot coaching up and player improvement going on this week in practice.
    • I give the Ole Miss Offense the edge here. The Gator D will need to play the same Bend but Not Break style. Hopefully, they will improve on 3rd Downs, and not give up big plays.
    • If the Gators can break even on the time of possession, I see a 28 to 24 win.

This just feels like a bad matchup for UF. Hope I’m wrong.
Gap discipline will play huge role and I feel like our hopes relies on affecting the QB on non-blitz downs.
DB’s gonna earn their money Saturday.

  8. I believe it makes a big difference with DJ under center...The team has balance on both sides of the ball and the Defense will feed off the Offense and vice-versa...Not having DJ against Texas hurt bad.

    Party Pooper!:D

What the heck, who wants to face them when they're weak? Let's challenge them when they are peaking! Winning would look nice for UF, but really the game is about measuring ourselves against the best of the SEC right now, so if their injury list is empty then all the better if we can hang with them with our backups. And if we play out our minds and somehow defeat them, well that shows we have truly arrived again!
Personally I don't need this game to confirm the progress made this season. I saw enough in the Tennessee, Kentucky, GA and LSU games to believe. But what about Miami, TAMU and Texas? Well the first 2 we still hadn't figured out some things that we clearly did after the first bye week. We faced Texas without an SEC caliber QB and it was at their house. I think that was too big an ask for the walk-on QB and the rest of the team probably didn't bring their A-game because of it

Hopefully the defense stays in their freaking lanes. You don't catch a jackrabbit in open field by yourself.

Doesn’t every team come off by when they get ready to play Florida?

I heard Kiffin on Finebaum today. He made a comment about DJ and us being a better team, even on D with him. Then he made a comment that had me saying WTF? He said something like we have to get to the next guy thats our goal??? Which to me was a veiled threat like i told the team we have to take DJ out. I don't know if i misunderstood it or he didn't realize what he said, but I thought i understood it perfectly.

    From the Transcript

" I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a team play so different based off of a quarterback (DJ Lagway), where they go from him to the next guy. And usually that affects your offense. But it seems to affect their whole team, like gives their team hope, so they play much different when he’s there. So obviously you know, we coach. That’s what we’ve got to understand going in and try to make him really uncomfortable and try to get to the next quarterback. "

What does above mean to you.. How does get to the next QB

I took it as Rebs need to get to the qb (sacks, make him run around, test his hammy, etc) and make him less effective but I can see how someone would interpret it more ominously.
