TOS: Class of 2025 IOL Daniel Pierre Louis has Flipped his Commitment from Florida State to Florida. The 6’5 320 IOL from Loxahatchee, FL Welcome to Gator Nation young man!
Ahh yes, sit here and complain about complainers while you enjoy your top 30 class. We used to be a serious program.
Interesting take, surprised you didn’t mention we are now recruiting French men with this D. Pierre Louis guy. Burn it all down!
I'm probably in the minority, but I really appreciate posts like this by you and the others like you. The entertainment value brought by the incessant crying almost outweighs the disappointment of the on-field performance of the team.
Well, I get the displeasure about the class ranking nationally and in the SEC but it seems to me the Gators have added 4, in what, "a week"? and are trending upward with several more "hot" irons. In other words it's not early signing day yet. Perhaps Gator Nation may want to wait until that day actually arrives and see what the final tally brings. It would be sweet indeed to see what would happen if UF beats Ole Miss. And it's sweet right now taking another Nole.
Do you really think fans are happy with a 28th ranked class? Literally no one on this board thinks being 28th is going to save Billy or is acceptable. But the class was in the 60s a couple of weeks back, right? Now in the 20s and flipped two recruits from a rival. Someone can be happy for the recent string of recruits but also understand that it's going to take more. You seem to see this in completely binary terms when it's not.
It's two recruits in the class. Not sure why you're making it seem as if the success of the class is banking on a bunch of Norvell's recruits being flipped
I’m not making it seem that way, Napier appears to be by not making these guys an after thought in the class.
Can’t speak for anyone else, but I believe most would be in agreement that we wish our class was ranked higher - which would reflect higher ranked athletes making it up. But it certainly feels different than a year ago when at this time the class was falling apart. As much as the perceived turnaround seems to be gaining momentum, I believe recruits are looking at Lagway as a leader they want to play with and build around. Hopefully momentum is sustained and increased.
Who expected a great class when throughout the season BN was all but fired and no certainty as to who might replace him. I for one expected a lousy class since this year it was so easy to recruit against Florida with the prospects of another losing season and coaching change. If BN can salvage this class in the teens with what he was up against, and hit the portal I think we will be all right. With Lag, we have been competitive vs the best of the east as in ut, uga, and lsu. A great qb hides a lot of warts.
I don’t think the average Gator fan or any other club for that matter even follows recruiting outside of signing day. If you took a poll on the message boards, you would think the stadium should be at half capacity. However, 90K+ Gators packed the Swamp and had a great time Saturday. The vast majority of which were likely completely oblivious to our team recruiting rankings at kickoff. The average fan is enjoying seeing an upward trend in performance and they are happy to see it. Money talks, and right now fan money says they couldn’t care less about that ranking. Here we are three days later and we’ve shot up from 50/60’s to the 20’s depending on which site you look at for data. If we play well against Ole Miss or possibly win, we would land a few more big fish and the team rankings would be a moot point. The most important thing to watch in recruiting are these things. Are we replacing what we are losing and are they quality players? If those two things are there, we will continue to trend upwards as long as the coaching allows. All three of the players we landed were committed to programs that finished in the top 6 last year. Pointing out where we are ranked when NO ONE has signed at any school is just pumping a false measurement of current reality.
