I don't think the Gators have been below 15th ish since they began ranking and keeping record of classes.

 

I think you’re too wrapped up in the class rankings before we’ve even made it to early signing day. According to ESPN’s player assessments, of the 11 players who are not kickers we have committed, 8 are 4*. We don’t have many players that are seniors or juniors headed for the league. Once they add a few lineman from both sides of the ball, it will be a well balanced class with a high blue chip average. We’ve also had several 5* that were at this weekend’s game that publicly stated they were impressed, one of which scheduled an official for the next game.

 

The OV if he committed would be huge. He is a real talent. Not sure he is a Ryan Williams or Jeremiah Smith, but he is impressive.

 

Wilson coming back to back weeks is a positive and French says UF is still in the mix because of Lagway. Landing either of those would be huge. I have a feeling that a good showing Saturday and kicking the clown program to sleep would allow for a strong close on early signing day. We are trending exactly when you want to be. Win Saturday and I think we get more good news.

 

I'm not wrapped in the rankings at all. It's by far the worst class AT THIS POINT in the cycle that I've ever seen from Florida and it's not even close. I hope the boys do close strong, but, as of right now. . .

 

The class will be fine....as has been said repeatedly the class has always been designated to be relatively small and supplemented by portal for key slots. The smaller number of hs kids will impact the class rank but the average player ranking is what matters

You’re just going to ignore all of the outlets and insiders saying we will close strong, so you have to take your shots at the program before they become irrelevant thoughts… FYI, On3 jumped us up to 31 and we’re going to climb higher!

 

What does any of this have to do with what I wrote? Everything I wrote was true and will continue to be until it isn't. I sincerely hope that they close out and finish top 15 or better. That doesn't change what's already happened or rather hasn't happened yet. I don't count chickens before they hatch.

You don't count chickens before they hatch....but you don't have much issue with multiple posts bemoaning the class and its negative potential. Appears you are fine discussing bad possibilities but don't want to hear positives.

 

I'm guessing you missed the post wherein I displayed his national rankings from the various services and said it was a solid pickup. I simply don't feel the need to be delusional about where the class is at, AT THIS MOMENT. I'm not even down about it, but, it is what it is until it isn't. No need for puffery.

 

Where have you seen any "puffery"...whatever that is?
There has been reasonable discussion of where we are at AND the path forward. I have said many times the class rank won't be super high due to limited numbers/going more portal and of course the Napier status question. But the ave player rank has always been good and will remain so....we are seeing that now. The droning from some about that class rank of 51 was not indicative of where we were or would end up.

 

If you subtract out the two kickers, our average player rating on 247 is 91.42, which is 10th as of today. Good chance it closes higher too….

 

Exactly right. Been no sign of them loading up on reaches just to fill the class, which they easily could have done to make people feel better

 

Real good chance IMO, and when the combined rating, HS and Portel are factored, I thing UF will come in strong.
Maybe edging to top 10 territory.
