There is a story out there how some regulations changed to allowed for huge corporations to kill competition and kill rock and roll... Bring back the mom and pop radio stations of the past and bring back competition and new rock and roll. How Clear Channel Killed Radio — Claymore Sound
And maybe he will address this stupidity that lets News Broadcasters promote propaganda. Bring it to President Trump's attention. The Smith- Mundt Act of 2012 that Obama signed... Not sure if this is an EO or congressionally approved, but President Trump needs to reverse it, or change it to prevent propaganda... Americans Finally Have Access to American Propaganda
I was on the radio 5-6 nights a week from June of 1970 to March of 1975- it was fun and was my 2nd job so I could pay for school. In mid 1974 the radio station I was working for actually switched from spinning records to carts _ I also broadcasted a weekly high school football game from 1972-1974. Most games I was the only one in the booth, so I kept offensive stats on the 2 teams. We only had 5 sponsors so they got a lot of airtime and all the spots were live. Made the mistake of taking a friend along one game but that is a whole other story. It is sad for me to see how many small town stations have disappeared over the years
Good Lord, Rick. Now that you got your Trump back, you want lots of other things that are typically....protected by regulations. But don't you know that Trump will eliminate every regulation possible? He doesn't care about small radio stations, the consumer, or ....you. He's here to help the corporations. As is Elon Musk. You thought they care about helping the little guy? Here, look, he even tells you...again; "He will end the regulatory onslaught that has been crippling America’s Job Creators and Innovators..... Don't you even read the articles, Rick? Do you realize what that means? Thats code for "the rich guys need to make more money. " Or are you just excited because....... Trump! ?
Interesting to see the first "neg" rating roll in from a Trump fan. Not a rebuttal, of course, just a stand-alone negative rating. Would be interested to SEE a rebuttal..... But what do you, negative rater, think the below means? Does it mean Trump will be looking out for consumers and labor, or for ownership, as I stated? "He will end the regulatory onslaught that has been crippling America’s Job Creators and Innovators....
Stop with your feigned indignation, gator_jo. Your shtick is already old... We get it, everything that the Dems have done is good and okay in your point of view. We know what you Leftists are all about. You think all regulations are created equal? And you think all regulations are the same, not true. I guess you don't care to know the full story of how mom-and-pop radio stations became a thing of the past, and how vitally important they were to the music industry, especially in early rock and roll. There are more articles that I will be posting in this thread so you can see just what that monopoly has done to new exciting music that no one gets to hear because of the radio station monopolies. The few corporations are picking their winners and the rest is these artists are all losers because of their monopoly.
Okay, now I feel compelled to check into this thing you Leftists have been blubbering about for several months now. I don't have any opinion on it because I have not read anything about it, but I will... just to see what all the fuss is about. Care to give is the gist of it?
Lol. Umm...... don't you think that you had some responsibility to learn about what you were voting for? But yeah, might as well read about it now. Maybe someone can fill you in. Just don't be (a single bit) surprised when you realize that you've voted entirely against your own self interests.
Yep, 47 plan was always the project 2025 in disguise. Carr is well respected across the aisle. I am less worried about him. He is at least an FCC guy with some chops. He is going after TikTok which is a huge thing for anyone with parents. someone needs to be serious about section 230 and he is going to cement that platforms have no liability. Parents need more tools. Theoretically there is an entire cottage industry of curated content filters that should be available for parents to stamp out certain content.
His whole message is just more big gov. Let's regulate social media. I really don't care one way or another personally, but I find it super telling the GOP platform is basically just to throw more govt at stuff they don't like. What they purport to be and what they implement are vastly different. As an actual "small gov" guy I find it infuriating they've co-opted the "freedom" mantra.
They are miles from conservative small government. GOP needs to disband and just call it MAGA. The Dems are in a pickle because they have to support some super liberal ideas that they came up with first and help MAGA. JD Vance proves to me the future of MAGA is not a cult of personality, but an articulate splicer of feelings and populism economics.
Yeah. We've established you love Big Gov when it's Republican Big Gov. We don't need to rehash this for the 100th time.
