Interesting how this season ended up for the SWAC this year. I definitely wasn't drinkin' the 2023 Norvell Coolaid so this year more than evened things out! lol!
I’ve been saying this. It really sticks in my craw that we play 5 successive games in second half and all are conference games plus our annual finale against FSU. Add to that Texas and Ole Miss play us coming off a bye week and FSU has a bye week and cupcake preceding our game. Our bye weeks and cupcake crammed together in first half of season. SEC is sticking it to us and is anyone in the athletic department at very least protesting this? We are purposely being placed in an unfair position.
This game worries me. They had a bye to get healthy and they have a warmup game next week, to get ready for us. We will have to play our 4th tough game in 4 weeks.
You could get good stuff from A&P. Not overly impressed with the new conference. SCuM is the best they have this season, meh.
BUT the others arent titled geographically. Just numberically challengd (Big 10 plus 6). Atlantic Coast Conference kinda of implied some proximity to the Atlantic Coast
Agree. A&P, if I’m not mistaken, had Eight O’Clock coffee as a private label. The A&P in the small town I was raised in had three check out lanes and wooden floors. The coffee grinder was right up front so when you walked into the store the smell of fresh ground coffee beans greeted your senses.
We shopped in the store on NE 16th Avenue in Gainesville, and you're right. As a kid I'd just go to the coffee aisle and enjoy while mom shopped.
Oh yeah, I remember the coffee & the grinder at the store as a kid. They also had a dessert called Spanish Bar Cake that was so good.
It's great for recruiting. Every week, an epic battle, = every week, national exposure. ...and the fact that we're coming through this season on an upward trajectory, should translate to even better haul next year. Contrast that, to FSU parlaying an undefeated season (against a cupcake schedule), to abject disaster and national humiliation. Give me the gauntlet, keep the cupcakes. Cupcakes make you fat n soft.
& Well, Texas, Oklahoma n Misery are all adjacent to the geographical footprint of the SE US, and historically, Texas joined the CSA, and Oklahoma supported the South (though it wasn't a state--just a territory)--and MO was a slave state, though it never seceded. But note that Kentucky, long with the SEC, but North of the Mason Dixon line, provides precedent for Texas and Oklahoma. Even Virginia, if the SEC ever decides to extend the invite.
Respectfully disagree. Give me a cupcake in Ole Miss slot and I’ll rest a few players that need a little healing time and play a few guys that have busted their behinds at practice all season but haven’t, or rarely seen the field. Ain’t nobody getting fat on cupcakes playing an eight game SEC schedule.
