This is exactly when you do this. Look back at all the things Trump has ever done. 90% of them can be predicted by “X said something nice about me, so I will do good things for them.” Or “X said something bad about me, so I will do bad things for them.” This comment is cost-free and could itself reap a windfall for Ukraine. In short, a fantastic investment.

I doubt there are hundreds of thousand of dead Russians. There are many hundreds of thousands of dead Ukrainians.

Putin tried to keep Donetsk and Luhansk part of Ukraine for years. Unfortunately the Biden administration wanted war. Biden and Zelensky started it but it will end on Putin's terms.

Churchill was a clown who could have avoided the loss of millions of lives in a stupid war

Zelenskyy wants to end the war through diplomacy. No doubt Trump has Putin’s ear more than Biden.

It will be bad for Ukraine. Bad for long term security if Ukrainians as they will be a buffer state and have no long term security.

Although probably technically accurate it's not the full story. Churchill was voted out of office in July 1945. Germany surrendered on May 7, 1945. Although the war against Japan was still in progress and while the UK was an adversary of Japan the war in the Pacific was was far less significant than the war against Germany insofar of the UK was concerned. For all intents and purposes Great Britain was victorious when Churchill was voted out of office and one of the reasons that the Labour Party prevailed in 1945 was because the state of the British economy took precedence over the prosecution of the war and foreign policy and that combined with arrogance on the part of Churchill and the Conservative Party which didn't play very well among the British electorate.

The plan is for Trump loyalists to declare that Trump negotiated the best deal the world has ever seen regardless of outcome

While that adds more detail, I’m not certain how it changes the point I was trying to make. Churchill was not appreciated nearly as much in his day as he is in retrospect. I, too, think Zelensky has been a magnificent leader who has risen to the occasion far above anyone’s expectations. But his ultimate legacy is still not written and won’t be for some time.

Yes, Putin's genocide has caused hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian deaths. The estimates for Russian soldiers is around 120,000 to 180,000 dead.

I didn't quite realize that was the point you were trying to make. You're absolutely correct. I would also add that Churchill was among the first world leaders to realize the danger of the Soviet Union.

I've followed the war pretty closely. No, I don't think it's what you are saying it is. Zelenskyy has never been afraid to call out world leaders for lack of support. You don't think Zelenskyy sees that both of Russia's encroachments upon Ukraine in the past 10~ years were at times when somebody other than Trump was in office? That alone would give Zelenskyy more confidence Trump is able to keep Russia at bay. Mind you, despite the "reports" of all these Russian deaths, the Biden administration has been unable to dissipate Russia's desire to see this operation through, as evidenced by increased Russian commitment to this operation. Zelenskyy sees this too. While the Ukrainians have been able to keep it a stalemate and take out tons of Russian soldiers, it has not deterred Vladimir Putin from pressing forward.

Zelenskyy does not want this war to continue. He has confidence that Trump can get him a clean break, for all intents and purposes. Zelenskyy knows it is logistically impossible for Ukraine to push Russia back to pre-2014 borders. The goal now is to preserve a good deal for Ukraine. The Biden administration demanded Ukraine to fight on and what have we gained by this? More Russian soldiers killed is not a "gain." Soldiers can and will be replaced. Russia have fought wars where they lost millions. This war is a drop in the bucket for them.

That's not HUNDRED'S of thousands of dead. Probably at least 7-8 dead Ukrainians for every dead Russian. Russia could have less than 100,000 dead.

As I've pointed out n7merous times, Putin told us how to avoid war
    1) Ukraine stays out of NATO. Avery reasonable demand, since NATO wanted to split Russia into 17-32 different countries per Swiss geopolitical analyst Jacques Baud, who worked for NATO

    2) No US missiles in Ukraine that could hit Moscow in 3 minutes when they became hypersonic

    3) Ukraine needed to stop killing Russian-speakers in the Donbas per the Minsk 2 agreement Ukraine signed

8 days before Russia invaded Ukraine started blasting Russian-speakers with artillery. Each day they fired more shells than the day before (over 2000 on Feb 23, 2022, the day before Russia invaded to protect Russian-speakers under Article 51 of the UN Charter).

Also on Feb 23, 2022 Kamala said Ukraine would be joining NATO.

2 of 3 red lines violated and so the war began. Could have had a ceasefire 30 days after the war began but Biden and Boris Johnson rejected it. They wanted war.

Blame Putin all you want but war was easily preventable

How much does Putin and the Kremlin pay you to spread false, Russian propaganda? There is zero credible evidence of any shelling of Russian speakers 8 days before Russia invaded Ukraine. The only evidence is Putin claiming genocide. But no bodies, no shells, or any other proof.

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ulraine monitored ceasefire violations. The Moon of Alabama blog reported on their findings. I'm doing something right now but will try to find the original MoonofA post in the next few days. Here's an OSCE report from ~3 days before the war began when Ukraine fired over 1200 artillery shells at Russian-speakers, if memory serves.
OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Daily Report 40/2022 issued on 21 February 2022

Swiss geopolitical analys Jacques Baud also talked about the shelling of the ethnic Russians on the #1 foreign policy podcast The Duran several months ago. I think I linked to it on the Ukraine war thread.

Here's another, reputable source discrediting Putin's genocide claims. Where are the shells? The bodies? Anything? Want more? Here's from the EU. How about the NY Times?

You have swallowed Putin's propaganda hook, line, and sinker. I ask again, how much is the Kremlin paying you?

The details that went into that no choice decision to leave were the size of War And Peace. Trump left Biden with no choice but to get out. Under the Trump deal, we left 2500 troops in Afghanistan, released 5000 Taliban fighters from jail, ended up with 20 or more terrorist groups operating in Afghanistan in 2021 along with 300,000 Taliban fighters, and a collapsed Afghan government, military and police. What the hell should we have done?
