They really didn't give up a lot. They ran around twice as many plays as the good guys for roughly the same yardage. They went for Muschamp ball and it backfired. I only saw one explosive play and that was their first TD which would have been a sack with another quarter of a second.
They all played decent considering we didnt give up alot of points and the secondary guys played every single snap. Some of those sacks were due to decent coverage also.
Gators are going to take that game and it will be a message to Kiffin from Napier. . . If you want my job you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands.
And we are getting some decent blocking too. I dont see first round draft picks but i do see what looks like a line that has been coached and are playing as a unit. Do our oline coaches at least get a pat on the back. They arent the highest rated line in the country but they are definitely a decent unit. They kept DJ on his feet all night with no legs.
I noticed this when it happened during the game. It was so fast though I didn’t see the face Kelly made. Lacy is obviously uber talented, but you can’t let him dress you down like that on the sideline during a game. Not good!
He only carried the ball twice, once for four yards, and once for ten. I was surprised to see him in, and, also surprised that he left as quickly as he arrived. I assume it was just test to see if he could run hard in game conditions, but, I do also wonder if he was reinjured.
To add to my first statement, I want to remind you all that we have several starters out and considering the back end is suffering the most as a group, we did bend but did not break when it counted -- on the score board.
Yes, it definitely was. The fans were super loud and psyched for the full 60 minutes. The players were feeding off it big time and encouraging it. One LSU defender was throwing his hands up as well to mock us, and, the fans responded by getting even louder. Even the stadium show with the lights, fireworks and flyby seemed more energetic than normal. The Won't Back Down song was one of the better ones. Great weather and an exciting game kept everyone charged. Fun night, for sure. Hope the recruits loved it, too.
Have to say it’s been great to watch us beat rivals two days in a row (Bball vs Holes on Friday + yesterday’s win vs corn dogs)
Kelly is an ass, but if you allow players to talk to the HC in that manner then you have already lost the locker room
8-5 finish is not yet out of reach. I believe most said that this type of record would be an immense success given the brutality of their schedule.
