I have concerns about his position on vaccines but I have to agree with his position on overall public health. The current obesity rate is at an alarming level. I think @citygator mentioned Michele Obama's message on school meals and childhood obesity which was one that I agreed with at the time.

    Agree to some degree.

Certainly the childhood vaccines are long understood and safe.
There have always been options for not getting them.

I hope and doubt their use would be blocked and not really sure that it could be done actually.
If that happens you would will see the entire medical community rise up.

To add a little more clarity to this tragic story: The measles vaccine was shipped to Samoa in powder form. It was supposed to be mixed with water to make the vaccine. A nurse mistakenly mixed the vaccine powder with a muscle relaxant instead. Two children were inoculated with this faulty mixture, the children's hearts stopped and they died.

As to our incoming health czar from the linked article:

"Kennedy, as he claimed in the interview for Shot in the Arm, may not have publicly urged Samoans to refuse the measles vaccine. But he encouraged those who did, and the group he led helped spread misinformation to discredit vaccinations there. After the tragedy was over, he dismissed the outbreak as not serious and extolled the anti-vaxxers who helped bring it about. The Samoa chapter provides a clear case study of how Kennedy threatens public health and slyly sidesteps responsibility for that."

There were 200,000 people living on Samoa at the time. 56,000 contracted measles during the "not serious" outbreak. 89 people died, mostly children under the age of four.

    God protect us.

They likely died on the vine.

Feed a kid a perfect meal at school and they go home and eat total crap. Hard to change personal choices(ex the huge amount of people who smoke or vape).

Public school lunch is hot garbage.
Even libbies hate it. Michelle dropped the ball and gave our kids cardboard plant based trash for lunch.

Michele's plan was that she jumped to the endzone instead of slowing working the ball down the field. She needed to gradually make changes and they would have been more easily accepted.

    Yeah maybe, at what cost?
Since I had kids in schools then I know they still had access to all kids of junk food all day.

    Haha, that was too easy.

Claim: Oh, Michelle Obama was great and I supported her trying to help make kids healthier.

Me: Oh, did you know Donald Trump ended that program?

Response: Oh, I never liked it anyway!

Edit: And now I had a post deleted for saying that he killed the programs for insinuating that Trump was a murderer. Classic!

I think it was the most predictable thing ever. Trump appointing loyalists to Trump is the only thing that could be guaranteed. I don’t think he is playing an elaborate game to see who he can get through the Senate. I think he just appointed people that will bend the knee.

Oh damn. Did it depress you? I think that would mess with me pretty quick.
Would the smell stay in your car long afterwards?
