I think I explained that already. According to the complaint the girls have graduated. They won't be asking UF to fix anything for them under Title IX. This is a money play.

Of course, I have no "proof" until the lawyers out themselves, but...

From TG in press conference today:

“Continuing to actively engage in the school's inquiry uh as I said Monday night I'm not going to comment on absolutely anything in regards to the investigation out of the respect to the process and to be clear I would love to be able to comment on multiple elements of the investigation but I'm simply not allowed to do so out of the requirements due to confidentiality I'm also actively uh engaging with my legal team to see what potential proceedings I will have the ability to take as I proceed through this if I desire to do so okay um and simply I just appreciate you guys understanding where I'm coming from and what I'm am and am unable to talk about at this moment I hope you respect that uh but I am not going to comment anything in regards to the in regards to the inquiry at this moment”

I would guess it would be foolish if not suicidal to make such a statement if the allegations are 100% true and there is evidence as such. I am surprised the school is even allowing him to make a comment that acknowledges the existence of the Title IX investigation, much less his comment "I would love to be able to comment". Plot thickens.

I'd only comment that with each little no-comment comment, coach comments a little more while not commenting at all.

    Hope that clears it up

Seems like info about his innocence would be "leaked".

If in fact they came back to file Title IX and there isn’t any legal allegations to GPD, I would have to think this was a pay me or I’ll “x, y, z.” Then those alleging run to a half @ss UF focused paper that will run a story without gathering facts. If, and it is an if how this played out, then the defamation mention in the PC may bring everything to light. The plot definitely thickens…

Who would have an interest in that?

Well, it has been leaked and the media is all over it, so UF can't pretend it doesn't exist at this point.

I don't think that juice is worth the squeeze. If that leak were tied to the university - kaboom. It doesn't seem like they care about public opinion too much. Right now the only leakers are the complaintants.

Agreed. My uninformed legal mind whispers to me that if Golden did not have any defense other than playing for time, in other words, if the allegations are primarily true, he would have called a presser and offered his resignation already. I simply hope he has a defensable position and survives it, because I enjoyed his public persona, prior to this situation, and the team he has built at UF.

And that would be a violation of Title IX.

Been following this one tacitly, but how does a Title IX even move forward if they don't have a decent amount of evidence? In this case, it would seem the evidence would be quite easy to produce. Screenshots, etc. I'm not sure what the bar to clear is on a Title IX investigation, but one would think there has to be some evidence to start with? That is not to say TG is guilty, but these specific accusations would normally be quite easy to verify, would they not? As they say, the internet is forever.

I can’t imagine what would happen if it was found out someone leaked info about a Title IX investigation by someone that was not on the accuser’s side.

Maybe the girls didn’t share their screen shots or perhaps the screen shots don’t really show anything inappropriate. Most college coaches use text and social media these days, although texting coeds might raise a few eyebrows. I dunno. It would also not be out of character for a plaintiff’s lawyer to withhold some evidence in order to claim that the investigation was a whitewash in a later lawsuit.

So, it may be that UF has little more than the girls’ statements to go on, which complicates things.

    All speculation, of course.

I will say this, knowing NOTHING about any details not public: from my understanding, it was the girls who went to the alligator with this story (feel free to clarify). This investigation has been ongoing for months. In my experience watching this history of stuff like this, accusers generally don't go public with accusations after they went through the channels of getting an official investigation and waiting it out, if the investigation is going "their way". Its typically a move to bring in the court of public opinion to create pressure on investigators.

For example, anyone remember that kid from Ole Miss that Kiffin reprimanded, then kicked off the team that tried to sue? And how the video dropped right before the suit was filed? That was a 100% intentional leak to try to create pressure on Ole Miss to settle because they knew they didn't have much of a case on legal grounds alone, so the strat was to make the case not worth fighting for a low enough price.
