The Onion buys Infowars?

Now that is some funny stuff. If they turn infowars into a satire site... who would even know?

I think they should just keep it classic Infowars and do stories about how the lizard people are running the Trump admin, and how chemtrails are actually good

What is the Onion going to do with Infowars? Or is this essentially a charitable contribution from the Onion to the victims families? I don't see why the Onion would spend actual money on Infowars.

 

Maybe it wasn’t about money?

Apparently the families of the murdered children were part of the auction too, they partnered with the Onion. So instead of sitting around waiting for the settlement $$$ to come in, they also put up money to take over infowars in order to shut it down or at least change it’s purpose.

 

Do they not think Alex Jones won't start that up under a different name? I mean, I assume he would, given his financial dire straits...

 

At which point, they will come back for their cut of that too, as he hasn't finished paying them off.

 

If you are anyone buying any media brand to "make money" you should really reconsider your investment strategy

But they probably wanted that “brand” gone at least.
