If I had to guess, we have a former Rep who term-limited themselves but remain popular enough to easily win the seat if they so desired. Jeff Miller. Edit: Broxson is a state senator, never went to the US House. He would be a strong candidate though. Greg Evers has been around the district in several seats. I am not a fan of Evers. Miller was easily the most popular of the trio. Many would be thrilled if he jumped back in. I can't imagine Don winning the seat with no political experience (having been just elected to the state house) But stranger things have happened.
Don Gaetz was President of the Florida Senate back in the day (he just won state Senate seat - not House). My understanding is that he was well respected even by Democrats and was much different than Matt. To be fair, times have changed and it's possible that Don has changed as well. But he has a lot of experience and a lot of money.
I’ll admit I didn’t expect Gaetz but if Garland can, why not Gaetz? I think Trumps plan here is to clean out the DoJ. Obviously this will come with a lot of disagreement and backlash.
Shows what I know. I thought that was his dad. Not my Senate district anyways. Hey, for anyone who wants to say the voters in FL01 are uninformed, well, here I am!
Garland was editor of Harvard Law Review before being offered coveted clerkships. He practiced corporate litigation before becoming a Federal prosecutor with the DOJ. He later went on to serve as a Judge and ultimately the Chief Judge for the D.C. Court of Appeals. FWIW, Matt is smart and a good debater, and I've never questioned his political acumen. Having said that, he jumped into partisan politics very young. Their legal resumes are not comparable.
You guys are so freaking funny... Watch Geatz destroy Merrick Garland in front of GOD and COUNTRY. Yeah, tell us about the case that never went to trial. That's how your Leftists roll, and that's why the American people tossed your surrogates out of office...
Do you think that actually helped Garland be a good AG? Seems like to me he was mostly a political tool like most AGs. To be fair, I don’t expect it will be any different for whoever ends up Trump AG.
LOL. Did this man really compare Merrick Garland to Matt Gaetz? No, I think Garland was a shitty AG because he was too much of an institutionalist and not enough of a "political tool."
Matt offers at least distinction to the office of Attorney General. He is likely the only one ever suspended from the practice of law for failing to pay Bar dues (2021.)
per the book “Landslide” and in various reporting at the time - a key reason trump didn’t circumvent the 2020 election results was primarily due to his ineptitude.
Now you tell me you can read PITBOSS post without laughing. I don't want to be mean but a laughing rating is all I could give it.
