Congrats to @TrueGator for correctly picking Jaden Baugh to score our 1st TD. Our running game has actually looked much better with Baugh and Jackson than it did with Johnson and Webb. Could be the Oline gelling or both these backs have better vision and cutback ability than the other 2, which makes the Oline look better. A good back can make an average Oline look great. Been disappointed with Napiers stubbornness to keep forcing Warner to throw the ball when we are pounding the ball at will against a stacked box with Baugh and Jackson. Like I've said in other threads, he's a bad OC and has ZERO feel for the game. I don't care if we run the ball 10 times in a row if we average 4+ per carry. Napier is just insistent to throw in a pass play to keep balance. Screw the balance when our backs & Oline are dominating the line of scrimmage. Gators 1st TD against the Kittens will be Lagway to Mizell from 32 yards out. Go Gators!!!
I thought we needed to pass for balance, too, but, when it wasn't working, it should have been abandoned. We would have still lost, but, the margin would have been respectable and the overall score would have been lower. I think 21 points came off turnovers. Call me crazy, but, if Lagway returns, I say we win this next one in the Swamp. First TD this time will be a screen pass to Hansen from the 12.
There were 2 instances in the game last Saturday where if we just ran the ball inside 4 down territory, we make the game more respectable even though one dimensional. He’s just so stubborn when it comes to that. This is when you need to forget the analytics and stick to what is working.
"Our run game is rolling and is much better than our passing game. Napier needs to stop forcing the pass, is a bad OC and has ZERO feel for the game....BUT...first TD is a 32 yard pass." Got it.
I see a AR to shorter 2022 type score, so I will say Lagway to Mizell. Hopefully the end result is better than 2022.
