Draft in U.S. History | Oxford Research Encyclopedia of American History. I was drafted in 1973, so yes there was a draft.
Don’t joke about a draft when the world is on fire. It would be interesting to see how things play out if a military draft ever needed to be enacted. I would love to assume there would be an equal amount of men and women draft dodgers, but I’m not so sure that would be the case.
We have a military draft? Not in almost my entire lifetime. I don’t know if men have to register for the non existent drat but I am perfectly fine with women having to register also and if we needed a draft I am not opposed to women getting drafted. Smarter people than me can decide who sees combat.
how many shots does one have to get to deploy? why would covid be any different? man the crap peole throw agaisnt he wall
Yeah, there was a lottery. My number was 46 but Nixon had stopped drafting/calling up enlistees 2 years prior. I dont recall blaming females for any part of it though.
I know. "There was one?" was the next line in the movie after the drill sergeant told him there was no draft.
Do you mean nonemergency shots that have been around forever and tested? And what about the people who do not deploy?
I remember watching those on TV when I was a kid. When I told my students about it they looked at me like I had ten heads.
I too remember being deeply traumatized over the thought that I could be sent away due to a non-existent draft. It was awful and made me hate all women.
