And are hypocrites and don't even know it. How is this you say? You know how, through the almighty Military Draft here in the U.S. The Military Draft that only impacts MEN, not women. The Military Drafter where MEN, not women, can essentially be stripped of their freedoms and effectively given a death sentence. One of the areas of the Government that is completely sexist against one gender. And that sexism is against MEN, not women. Women balk at any Men talking about birth control, but many in this country wanted a Woman to have complete control over a Man's freedom, via the Military Draft. Yes some of you will try to bring up that it hasn't been used recently. I don't care. The fact is for any Man, they have to sign up for Selective Service on their 18th Birthday. Women don't have to do that. The fact is for any Man 18 - 25, they know their freedom can be taken at any time if a war starts somewhere. That is a reality Women will never truly understands since they don't have to go through it. I myself, I turned 18 two months after 9/11. For months after 9/11, my graduating class (I went to an All-Male Catholic High School) all thought we would never see a college campus. That we would graduate and be bussed straight to boot camp afterwards. Women my age, who graduated at the same time (2002), never had to even remotely have that thought. As far as I'm concerned, as long as the Male Only Military Draft is in place, I don't think Women should be eligible to be President. It's why I will not vote for any Woman, Republican or Democrat, to be President. Who's to say that Woman won't reinstitute the Military Draft to wipe out a bunch of Men out of spite? So it's hard for a lot of us Men to care about abortion. An abortion can be avoided by either not having sex or only having sex with a man who is using a condom. If a woman is really concerned, she can only have sex with a man who has had a vasectomy. Outside of medical issues or high up connections, there is no "out" for a Man when it comes to the Military Draft. So yeah, it's hard for a lot of us Men to not just laugh when Women say "my body, my choice" when it comes to Abortion. Do us Men get to say "my body, my choice" when it comes to the Military Draft? And it's hard not to be angry when Women cry about the "your body, my choice" statement. Women have essentially said "your body, my choice" since the very foundation of this Country, through the Military Draft. So Women, you say you are angry at us Men? Well right back at you, us Men are angry at you Women as well. There is far more blood on your hands than there is ours. Women want true equality? Women want their abortions back? Then END the Male Only Military Draft. Do that and abortion bans would fall very quickly.
I'd also use the example of military personnel having had to get the COVID shot. Approximately 8,000 were let go. That's not very "my body, my choice." It's hypocritical and that is par for the course with them. If they were smart, they would stop calling themselves Pro-Abortion. Use Abortion Hesitant and at least pretend to have sympathy for a lost child. Pro-Abortion makes you sound like you are celebrating abortion, which some really do.
There could be, at any time, and that's the point. A man's freedom could be stripped from him with a stroke of a pen. I remember having to sign up for selective service on my 18th birthday in 2001, 2 months after 9/11, thinking I was signing my life away. A woman my age never had to experience that. A woman my age never had to give a second thought that they might be drafted after 9/11. Heck I remember after 9/11, hearing talk of several boys at the All-Boys Catholic High School I ended up going to talking about going to Canada. I remember 9/11, as it happened, and boys acting like we were never going to make it to college. For women my age, who were in high school at the same time, they never had to have those conversations. You all talk about sexism, and avoid the most sexist part of our Government, the All-Male Military Draft.
Really the COVID shot for anyone. Outside of the military and health care, no private company had ever made a vaccine mandatory. That was absolutely a violation of "my body, my choice".
Military personnel get more vaccines than the general public, esp if they are being deployed. Any person who travels to Africa or the Middle East gets extra vaccinations. Military even gets crazy stuff like Anthrax vaccine that very few in the general public would likely get but apparently the military deems it necessary to maintain readiness. I can see some consternation over something like the Anthrax vaccine, but not over things the general public gets or is even mostly “required” to. The military members drawing a line in the sand over COVID vaccine were not rational. Maybe a few of them were already anti-vaxxers, but for those that had no issues before, it was irrationality which betrayed their political leanings/sources of information.
I would venture to guess that more soldiers throughout history have died of communicable disease than enemy fire.
Ok, let me femsplain the military to you. When you agree to give your service to the military, you agree to give up one's "self". At bootcamp they break you down to build you up so you will put yourself in harm's way for your fellow soldier and you will follow orders. You become one. You have no personal decisions anymore. You can't choose if you deploy, you don't get to decide where you will live. My son went in and within two weeks he had been inoculated, and had all four wisdom teeth removed. You also get ZERO sleep for first three days as part of the assimilation into the military. So, no, you don't get to reject a vaccine. SORRY!
Let me get this straight, women have implemented and enforced a draft, men don't like birth control, and women could get our reproductive rights back if we get rid of the draft that we apparently have control over? That all male catholic school you went to warped your brain against women for some reason. I have no other words. Except for Buh Bye!
A good example of why it is so important in education not to engage in siloing and self-selection into cohorts of only similar people and instead expose children to all sorts of people.
