Minus the one fail against UT special teams have been improved. Likewise defense has been improved after the bye. We also don't know that Norvell's changes will be "impactful" and therefore giving him more credit than Billy is Nole behavior.

In fair disclosure to what I expected was that if DJL goes down, that is it.

I think injuries and tough schedule are legitimate things for evaluation of the coaches. I posted a lot before the season saying that 8-9 wins was a pipe dream and that a lot of great teams would have 3 losses in the SEC this year, and it is definitely playing out that way.

My response to apk was about the strength program. Injuries can just be random things that are bad luck (only so many things you can do about ACL to protect them or ankles being rolled over), and then they can be systemic because of the strength and conditioning program or recruiting known problems (hamstrings and shoulders and feet). I think our injury crisis started early and kept going. That speaks of it not being random.

Regarding the qb situation. I am not saying that CBN should make Warner a great qb or that he should help win games for us. I would suggest that he may not even be the right walk on to be playing. However, the bigger point is that CBN got himself into this problem. Warner is not a scholarship player and should never be. Before this season CBN said rightly he needed 4 scholarship qb. However you count, he only got two into fall ball. He didn't get the 4, and now we are in this terrible situation. He mismanaged the roster, like Muschamp did and Mullen did. The qb situation has gone through mismanagement and bad luck over two years (Rashada, Miller, Kitna, Brown, Stokes, and Simmons), and CBN didn't right the ship. You could look at each of those in isolation and say that it is bad luck for CBN and UF, but looked at as a whole, you wonder what is going on in this program.

Sooner or later the excuses run out. I wanted to believe, and Napier is a good man. I like him, but everyway you turn to examine this team and program one runs into brick walls of poor coaching, poor recruiting, poor portal management, poor game management, poor strength and conditioning, an epidemic of injuries, and on and on and on. So here UF is hoping to buy a roster that can compete in 2025.

I believe that Billy may have made it work "the old way" when it was an amatuer sport, but its very different now, NFL Light, Infinite Free Agency, Portal, Conference Realignment, Greed, and UF bureaucratic Incompetence from the UF President, to the Board of Regents, to the AD and every where else in between.

Again,.....he got 3 scholly qbs into fall, not 2. Millen is exactly what I would have looked for as the 3rd option... an experienced guy with plenty of D1 starts and solid tools to play. You keep ignoring that addition which on paper made our qb room set up nicely.
None of us seem to know the full story on Millen at this juncture....but your characterization of the situation has to include him.

My understanding was that he was a preferred walk on because we did not have a scholarship for him and that he could get it for next year, and he was OK with it because he came here for the education. If I am wrong, I apologize. I haven't been able to wrap my head around how he left Colorado St., based on how he looks throwing the ball and having such a high reception rate despite the interceptions. I have a harder time understanding how he could not beat out Warner. There has to be more there or I am very disappointed.

I've never heard anything about him being a walkon, only a scholarship guy.
And he looked fine in the spring....thus my opinion there is more at play than being beaten out by Warner

Scheming bureaucrats denied them a spot in the playoffs? Really? More like observant and smart people in my eyes

What about the botched FG vs Ga that gave them great field position for their td. 10 pt swing.

My memory is pretty garbage, was that one a bad snap? If so I don't really put that on the coaches it's not like the dude hasn't been coached to snap properly and it hasn't been a recurring problem. Not getting the personnel right is a different story.

I was talking about the CO St. guy Millen. Big step up educationally for him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but FSU was one of the schools which voted against expanding from a four-team playoff.

I believe the question was to start the 12 team playoff a year early...
And it was the ACC that voted against it, not FSU, though it's very possible the ACC commish was listening to Clemson and FSU. (just my guess.)

Probably because the ACC teams wanted that easy path to the final game.

I give Napier a lot of grief but have lightened up on the qb depth ranting. It is not just a UF thing. Take Tennessee for example…they went into this season with 3 QBs with a grand total of 1 total start (Nico last year in a bowl game). They have Nico, a grad transfer senior who followed Heupel from UCF with zero starts and almost no playing time, and a true freshman. That is their depth chart.

Nico may miss Saturdays game. They will likely start the grad transfer who has almost no game time experience (40 passes over 4 years) and then a true freshman who played in mop up duty in two games with 9 total passes.

Napier went into this season with a 6th year senior with like 50 starts, a true freshman with no experience and then a transfer qb with 10 starts who was a freshman AA (who was then beat out by Warner).

seems UT qb depth was far worse going into this season. They just didn’t lose their top two qbs cuz if they did, they would be in a disastrous situation as well.
