Baseball Exhibition vs USF, Sun 11/10/24, 1:00 pm

Pitching was good all day. Some Wild Pitch/ Pass Ball issues led to the runs allowed in game 2. Other than the back to back jacks to start game 1, tough to find bright spots offensively.

 

This gives me no confidence concerning our ability to win midweeks .
There are problems in the system

I would love to see our team approach/philosophy to be hit it hard WHERE IT’S PITCHED.

Oh, my bad, I’ve wanted this for years….

 

Pull doubles—oppo gap doubles, I don’t see any difference…except discipline.

 

Naaaa, see how high in the air you can hit it. Just swing out of your shoes no matter the situation or count.

Swinging for the fences is the dumbest thing ever. Jac had such a great year last year by going with the pitch and hitting the ball hard. His home runs started out very slow as he only hit 1 in the first 7 games, but his walks were up and he hit .481 in that stretch. We all know his home run total turned out pretty well. He was smart enough to know that pitchers were going to try and get him to chase, and never give him anything over the plate. Getting on base and putting pressure on the defense is so important in college ball, it absolutely drives me crazy when we have a bad OBP.
