Who else thought after we missed the first FG that we were being shutout for the first time since 1988? The small things guys..trying to find positives Kind of sad though that they brought it up in the first half.
It was early so I didn't think that but I did think, "I wonder how many more chances this good will we get?" We had a walk-on QB3 who played his best but is a walk-on QB3 for a reason. He can improve and I'm glad he had the guts to step out there and start. Thanks for trying to find legitimate positives. Hopefully, DJ is back next week and the defense doesn't have to face a play-off team again. Still, our kids were fighting all game. My 2-cents . . .
Doubt LSU makes the playoffs but they could easily be one of the best 12 teams if automatic bids weren't in play.
Reason #4351 why he is over his head. In a blowout game he is worried about a scoring streak. In the second half he should have went for it.
I was more critical of the field goal attempt in the first half down 14-0 on a 4th and 2. The objective is to win the game and we weren't going to win the game kicking field goals.
Kinda sad that this stat is one of the only things we can hang our hat on. Won Loss record blown up, 3 straight losing seasons, no more DBU, but most of all an AD that wants to stick with this same coach.
No more DBU? Hopefully some of the injured DB's get back on the field for this and the future seasons.
To be fair our 4th and short play call probably would have been a halfback toss pass or something equally silly so the FG was the better choice.
If he was trying to win he should have went for it, but we actually had no chance to win at that point. I'm glad he didn't go for it because the streak was the only thing left of relevance on that particular day. Also, we needed to shut tessatore up
It's freaking embarrassing that I was even thinking that or worried about such a dumb ass record like scoring 10 points and getting the shit kicked out of us as some kind of accomplishment
IMo the field goal try in the first half was not a bad decision. at that point we needed confidence and taking a zero on that drive would have really deflated us- which of course it did after the miss. And really- what were our chances to make a 4th and 2 with that line up? IMO pretty small. No- taking the FG was the right move- unless we missed it...
Pretty damn hard to be DBU with 4 starters in the backfield out with injuries. If you didn’t see remarkably better play out of our secondary before they all went down then you’re not even trying to be objective
