Been saying this for years. You don’t win a war by allowing your enemy to get rich selling your allies LNG. EU Chief Suggested To Trump Buying US Gas Instead Of Russia's
That was talked about years ago and dismissed as a possibility due to logistics and added costs ... I don't have a subscription so I can't read why their opinion has changed.
Facilitating the export of US LNG to Europe is one of the few proposed policies that Trump will implement with which I agree. We're actually producing a surplus of natural gas, they're going to burn it anyway and we might as well sell it to them. That being said one irony is that increasing overseas demand for US produced natural gas could end by increasing the price gas domestically which had be falling.
LNG market is expanding and will be oversupplied by 27 going forward. Especially if/when next generation nuclear and solid state batteries enter the energy market. The LNG Market Will Remain Tight Until 2027 The LNG Market Will Remain Tight Until 2027
Wait, what? We can rationally expect this war to be ended any day or week now. It will not last even 10 more weeks. So shouldn't we be formulating a post-war policy on energy wrt Ukraine? Former President Donald Trump said if reelected he would end the war in Ukraine before his inauguration because he is respected by Ukraine and Russia’s leaders. “That is a war that’s dying to be settled. I will get it settled before I even become president,” the Republican said during his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday. WATCH: Trump promises to 'settle' war in Ukraine if elected
Trump will simultaneously boost domestic production to offset the increased demand. Drill baby, drill.
Welllllll getting the EU to purchase LNG from us both short and long term not only puts pressure on Russia Russia Russia, it just makes sense and has been part of trump foreign policy platform a long time. Wars are fought with money BTW. Congrats on making a post that didn’t include the word felon. Guessing that was difficult. Meds must be working
Haha - meds. Good one!! That was funny!!! Sure, we should explore selling LNG to Europe. But you agree that we should expect this war to be over in under 10 weeks, correct? Edit : the felon part is well known by now. No need to repeat it for people who know that they voted a felon to be President of the United States.
the LNG wasn’t for Ukraine. It was for our European allies. So they don’t continue to fund the Russian war machine. History reminder: Here is trump being consistent going all way back to 2018. Of course he was accused of ‘alienating an ally’ which was nonsense and he was proven 100% accurate and correct…. Again part of his foreign policy for a long time. That’s how you defeat an adversary https://www.reuters.com/article/mar...-deal-calls-it-russias-captive-idUSKBN1K10VH/
Dismissed? We are the worlds largest exporter of LNG and have been for awhile, and Europe is already the #1 destination. This has already happened and is ongoing. The United States was the world’s largest liquefied natural gas exporter in 2023 - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) I don’t think anyone disagrees with this from the geopolitical angle, although our proven reserves are 12 years worth. So that must be kept in mind. For reference, Russia 102 years of reserves at their consumption rate. What happens when we “drill drill drill” through ours and Russia has another 100 years worth?
You may want to check those meds, apparently a side effect is Tourette’s. He’s not even in office and already has EU nations openly speaking about buying American LNG. That’s the kind of policy that ends wars. Cutting off Russian money that been flowing under Biden Harris. Fairly straightforward but of course the left is so wedded to the climate change religion Biden Kamala could never publicly support exporting American LNG…..something so practical and common sense.
Being the #1 exporter, and being able to replace the Russian pipelines into Europe, are two different things. I recall a couple years ago, Russia threatened to cut off the supply to Europe during the winter, and Europe had no options to play hard ball with them because no one could fill their shoes. But if it's possible to ramp up US exports to the point we can shut down Russia in that region, I'm all for it.
Trump has a better chance of ending the war in 10 weeks as president-elect than Biden does as the incumbent president. Mainly because Biden doesn't **want** the war to end.
yea. Putin did that. Why? Because nobody headed the warnings and Germany indeed was held hostage. Exactly as warned/ predicted another article of Trump ‘alienating allies’ Back in 2018. This one from PBS Trump scolded Germany for buying gas from Russia. Here's what we know
But we’ve drastically ramped up to Europe, that’s my point. It went from 0 to whatever volume is now (and 66% of export share). Maybe we can do more despite already being the world leader, I dunno. Not sure how much we are “holding back”. But the “proven reserves” has me questioning how long that would even be sustainable, esp if we drastically increased output. Just means we would deplete reserves at a faster pace, unless there were some major discovery to increase reserves substantially.
LOL. Check your meds is so funny that......you might want to check YOUR meds! You need a med that allows you to understand what you (maybe) read. Here's the post you were responding too (below). Now go get yourself a med that enables you to read. Trump will end the war in under 10 weeks though, right?
Hey wow, this is totally cRaZy !!!! A Trumpy thinks there's some magic bullet for a complicated issue. And......the only one who can provide that magic bullet is the rapey reality show can man. .... And then reality actually appears. So other than the fact that this has been happening for years, and is scheduled to continue......really great post, OP. Top notch! Here are the US LNG exports to Europe by year: 2021: 22.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) 2022: 56 bcm 2023: 63 bcm The US has been the largest supplier of LNG to Europe for three years in a row. In 2023, the US supplied 48% of Europe's LNG imports, while Qatar and Russia supplied 14% and 13%, respectively. The increase in US LNG exports to Europe is due to European countries replacing Russian gas imports after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The US and Europe have agreed to maintain stable demand for US LNG until at least 2030.
That's because they are scared of the tariffs President Trump will put on them. They're doing what President Trump wanted the Euros to do the whole time he wasn't POTUS.... finally.
