That is all made up. But that is your opinion. This election swung on people pissed about prices. ALL of the exit surveys said ECONOMY. None said dems were mean. But nice story.
Great post. This was a “lesser of two evils” election for many moderate Republicans like myself and at the end of the day and because of some of the points you make, the majority of those voters went with Trump. I’m far from a Trump fan and while I felt he was a better candidate to deal with the economy and border, at the end of the day I was not going to vote for a far left liberal from California and the whack policies she supports (ie using taxpayer dollars to pay for prisoner sex change operations).
Again. Made up narrative. All the exit polls said "Economy". People blamed incumbents for prices. Dems thought there was enough Democracy threat to offset. That is where they were wrong. No one cares about democracy, decorum, or rapes. They only care about prices. Lesson learned.
It’s the same reason he won in 2016 (remember the “basket of deplorables”?), while in 2020 the Dems managed to focus on Trump’s COVID response instead of just exasperation about how anyone could possibly be stupid enough to support him. But sure, keep pretending that you should analyze his races the same way you would one from 1964 while being confused about how the polling keeps being way off and you keep getting surprised by his results and him performing well with demographics that you can’t figure out any logical explanation for.
Anecdotal, but my daughter's say their friends (all in their first election cycle as 18 and 20 year olds) had a general "what's the point they both suck" attitude. They said their guy friends were more Trumpy than their female friends. I got the impression that they feel it was about 50/50 on if their friends voted at all. I try not to get too nosey because I want my kids to feel comfortable being open with me. So again, I am just piecing it together. But that is the sense I got.
I think this is a wrong perception. Most Republicans are happy to allow people to Live and Let Live. What they have issues with is the Democrats and their allies pushing gender transitioning on children under 18 and then calling anyone who disagrees with them Transphobes. One of the big take aways from this election should probably be that calling people that disagree with you a racist/transphobe is not a way to win a political argument.
I haven't even stated my position but I get attacked by our far right Maga members and by our far left contingent on the board for stating sentiments that have been shared several times over. FTR I don't believe either party can really "destroy or save America " given the checks and balances that are usually in place which Is why I think one party controlling all three houses is a much bigger problem than who is in the Whitehouse. I think the parties themselves, the campaign machines and salacious "news networks" and social media drive the hysteria rather than the actual substance of whatever actual prospective administrative policies are in play.
How is my narrative made up. I said dems emphasize the wrong things and you agreed...right? Arent we sorta saying the same thing?
Likely Final Electoral College: Trump 312 Harris 226 National Popular Vote: As of 7:55 AM ET on 11/6: Trump 71,243,404 Harris 66,174,987 Difference 5,068,417 Total Vote 137,418,391 2020 Final Presidential Vote Count: 158,429,631 Hmmm.......... The senate is flipping to republicans with 52 to 55 senators. I'm still holding out for Kari Lake in Arizona to make it 55. There was a bomb scare in Maricopa County yesterday so some of the Maricopa results have been delayed plus Arizona only had 66% of the vote in earlier this morning. Republican pickups in West Virginia, Ohio, and Montana. Leaning republican in Pennsylvania and Nevada. Hoping republican in Arizona. The house is projected to remain narrowly in republican control by Decision Desk HQ, 218 to 217. Republicans have a 57.9% chance of retaining house control compared to 42.1% for democrats. As of now, it looks like republicans will control, the WH, the senate, and the house.
Yes, House looking much better for GOP this morning and it appears the GOP may actually make gains in the House. What a disaster of an election for Democrats. Some of us tried to point out the Dems had a major turnout problem on their hands.
The problem is this “pushing gender transition on children” basically doesn’t happen. It’s complete nonsense, same as “murdering babies after birth”. Same as the great critical race theory panic of 2022 (remember that?). The sports thing is a more interesting debate on a case by case basis, but again, what’s the government’s role in any of that? The problem I have with the right wingers on these issues is they very much are NOT live and let live. They want to control and ban these things they don’t like. I’d say those who source shit from “LibsofTikTok” or other similar troll accounts are also pretty much straight up engaging in bigotry.
Saw on Instagram that Florida football was 31-16 under Trump and 21-25 under Biden, so maybe it’s coming
& Lol! See...some might call that: POLICY. You know...shit POTEII do, that actually impacts ppl's lives. Seriously bro...like 5 posts ago you were rationalizing about how ppl voted for Trump, not agsinst policy... and how you couldn't understand the Trump love.... Me, saying it ain't Trump love, but rejection of failed policies, shitty track record n such... Is any of this ringing remotely familiar? Someone tweak your meds or something? That was this morning, not last month or week or such...
