He has taken the next step, IMO. He has that elite movement look to him. Every step is purposeful now. He doesn't look like he is playing against the other players, he looks like he is competing against himself. This is a man on a mission.

All this true PG chatter is nonsense. He isn't Chris Paul or Magic, he's something different. Enjoy his game for what it is and don't worry about what it isn't. We have a great one on our hands.

So much fun to watch. What I love is how well he scores in the paint. He is so athletic and decisive getting in the lane, takes great angles to the hoop, and knows how to shield with his body. Last year, he shot an outstanding (for a guard) 52% from 2 on the third most attempts on the team (also amazing for a guard). Granted, USF did not have a lot of big bodies and zero rim protection, and the entire team killed them in the paint, but he was particularly special in that regard last night (8-10).

Scoring highlights. Most impressive is the control and pace. He's not pressing or forcing at all. So smooth it looks slow, but it's actually really fast. Impeccable footwork.

We had the same type of scoring point guard in the early 2000’s….Anthony Roberson.

Roberson was nice! I don't remember much about the team or how he played, but I remember he was very good.

He's going to score more than 20 lots of times this season. Amazingly, we can have multiple guys go off for 20+ points in the same game. Richard had 25 vs. USF, and Martin had 32 in the College of Charleston scrimmage. He's a better shooter than he showed Monday.

I liked that he didn't force things v USF. There was one posseaion where he missed a 3, we got the board, and he ended up unguarded at the arc again. He didn't relaunch, but drive to the rack for 2. He showed patience with his own game that night IMO. A great sign

He really does look even better this year. More explosive and more composed, a rare combination. He looks like a pro player playing against college kids. Martin and Richard are no joke too

These 3 are going to be a top 5 backcourt in the country this year. Whether our bigs can hold their own, rebound, defend, get some pick and roll and put-backs - will determine whether we are a top 10-15 team or top 30

Clayton might be the best offensive player we've had since Beal, and Clayton as a senior is better than Beal as a freshman
Tre Mann was talented but not as polished. Clayton looks like a polished pro basketball player.

Maybe he just got lost in the sauce, but I don't remember Beal being all that in college. I remember him being good with high potential to be a great NBA player.
