I'm disappointed this garbage thread got so many replies.

    The tldr version of this hogwash is;

    1) Will dems be really super bad and do what WE did?

    2) If they don't, they're really super bad because these things that I lie and say they said......prove that they were just lying!

(since they don't care enough to attack the government, like WE did. )

    3) Just another Trumper telling lies and making false projection to drag someone into the sewer with them. So they won't be alone there.

But nice try. Enjoy your sewer. Alone.

    No, not what I'm saying.

Saying if they purport to be all about democracy, but refuse to accept results of an election and cede power, they prove themselves hypocrites, Trump right about the lengths the dems will go to to keep power, and us--the US that is--a fraud, for shitting on our own elections.

As for Trump, against this hypothetical--rhetorically: who's POTUS now, and how'd that happen, if Trump didn't concede the election? (...and if he didn't, what's he doing out and about, free, and not in custody for sedition? Of course he did, so thr hypothetical doesn't apply).

    LOL.

You suggest the astoundingly unlikely possibility that they will do.......

......what traitor Donald Trump already DID.

    Too funny.

Whether the thread was ridiculous or not. None of you have to name call and degrade this poster for posting his thoughts on here.

Don't you people have enough of a left leaning echo chamber?

Seriously, you are not nice people.

Kamala is irrelevant to this discussion.

SCOTUS has said that POTUS is fully immunized doing the core functions of his office. It there were proof that Trump was a danger to this country that was actionable, he could do about anything to him and go scot free.

This would create a constitutional crisis of course, but he could if he felt it necessary.

See here. What is the problem with simply responding in this way? Why do others feel the need to tell someone else how stupid their idea is? Can you not educate others with your thoughts and experiences? Can you not simply treat others kindly with differing opinions? It goes against everything a lot of you claim to be.

You aren't good people because you think of others, you think you're better than everyone else and anytime you act like you care its coming from a place of superiority and arrogance more than kindness.

There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with holding in contempt the baseless questioning of the integrity of others from a poster who knowingly supports criminality......just because he wants to establish a false equivalence.

In fact, it's precisely what we need more of, and what we should have had more of for years.

If we, as a society, had for the past years held in greater contempt the criminal conduct of Trump or support for it..... then maybe we wouldn't find ourselves in this position where he is poised to repeat it.

So you think you get through to people by degrading them? Is that what you do with your children too?

"Hey little Billy, why'd you steal that candy from the store? You're an idiot and a thief!"

You seem to be confusing them with Trump.

    a) We've seen that there's more than probably no "getting through" to these supporters of criminality.

    b) It's not really "degrading them" to let them know that their disingenuous false comparisons will not be acceptable.

Yes!! Absolutely!! That is absolutely what you do with children. (Although not in the hyperbolic manner that you speciously suggest.) Disapproving of certain behaviors is certainly not "degrading" people.

You let children know that certain behaviors fall outside our social norms and will NOT be considered acceptable. This should have been done to a far greater degree with the criminal-supporting Trumpers for years.

Fortunately, children generally prove to be more capable or willing of learning and/or accepting of our social compact than Trumpers.

Had this been done across the board for years, maybe right now Trump supporters would realize that un-American crimes like trying to overturn an election are unacceptable. And that they can't just lie about what actually happened. (Like a child would do.)

You dont talk to anyone here that you disagree with with any compassion or understanding that you would show your children in that situation.

I posted the hypothetical sentence in such a way on purpose. Thats how you treat people here. Most of you do that, actually.

So again, do you think thats really the best way to get through to people? Do you equally hate other people from other countries with different cultures and if so, why don't we see that same type of energy? Do you simply not care about other human beings? Im pretty sure there are some horrible leaders out there with a lot of people who voted for them who are much worse than Trump. I think you're probably someone who projects this energy online but in real life you either avoid these people or treat them kindly because you are not really about that life. You're a professional virtue signaler. Question is, why can't you bring the same energy you bring outside, online? I know why, you don't have to answer because I don't read most of your posts anyway (like you).

I just feel like maybe some of these people need compassion and someone to say they understand that they would vote for someone most likely because they think that the person they are voting for alligns with who they are and more importantly probably thinks that they can feed their family better than the other candidate. The name of the game is votes, isnt it? Wouldn't it behoove you to be nice and try to educate others who think differently instead of just degrading them?

OP makes a pretty simple point that presents an interesting moral dilemma for Democrats, assuming they are being honest (big if).

If Pence actually could have kept Trump in office through election certification, that would mean Kamala has the power to keep Trump out of office through election certification.

If Trump is truly a Hitlerian figure, shouldn’t he be stopped by any means necessary? Rigging an election seems like a small price to pay to prevent another Holocaust.

I don’t understand how so many people think it’s morally justified to kill baby Hitler to prevent mass genocide of the Jewish people along with a world war, but Democrats are so quick to prioritize “protecting democracy” over preventing Hitler 2.0 from taking office who would end Democracy anyways (according to them at least).

A lot of people may view that as though Democrats have been lying to them.

Absolutely. There may be some court cases, but if the decisions go Trump's way, they'll step aside. They're going to cry and whine like hell, but that will be about it.

Who says that another doesn't just step up? Hitler wasn't the only person in Germany - or Europe for that matter - who thought like that.

P.S. The greater moral question is 1940. Do you kill him then knowing his failures will ultimately be one of the Allies' greatest assets?
