I’d just love him closer to 100% for the last three if an extra week off would help.

I admittedly don't know much about the injury but it seems like prevention is the best medicine for these things. I know players stretch before the game to avoid these type of injuries. Or is it something that no matter how much you stretch and get loose it doesn't matter.

But our forum experts said that's impossible because he came off the field in a CART!

Most of the time it would be that if a guy is carted off he's not playing 7 days later. Reasonable of the board to expect he was injured significantly. I don't want to see him on the field unless he's cleared AND he decides he's good to go. That's the only way it should be.

Dak’s throwing hand looked pretty bad in one sideline shot; was swollen and pinky finger looked dislocated. Maybe the reason he’s not playing in combination with leg injury.

From the get go I assumed they brought out the cart in an abundance of caution. But I do agree with you.

I didn't know about the hand. The ESPN ticker said hamstring injury.
This article doesn't mention the hand just his hammy.

I still don't think he is playing. I think Napier said that to make Texas practice for it just in case.

Was thinking the same thing. A hamstring pull that would be healed enough to play the week later in no way would need a cart to haul him off the field. If, in fact, it is just a pull, then I would be totally embarrassed riding out on a cart.

Fantastic news! We go from “I don’t know if we can even beat FSU” to running the table again. With Gator basketball starting tonight, things are looking up and up!

Yes. AN MRI that produced good news. I still would be surprised to see him playing Saturday but that's nothing official.

A week after getting carted off the field. I’m sure Napier has no personal interest in whether or not he plays. It’s only his job. Can you honestly tell me if it was your son you would want him playing one week after he was carted off the field? I would think you would want a few weeks to be sure even if the team doctor said he could play. Maybe a second opinion?

We may need him to pull a Deshaun Watson from his freshman year at Clemson when he wore a brace on a torn ACL to beat the cocks. Yes, that was before he consistently had his beaten by the masseuse.

Odds or us winning next week is 1%. Doesn’t matter who the QB is

Jeesh! I used to wake up to my grandma yelling eeeek, eeeek and I would know she needed me to come push her toe back up. I've never heard of anyone having a cramp as bad as what you just described. That's rough.

Tell you what I can honestly tell you. If it were my son I know of no college football coach who I would trust more than Billy Napier to put his best interest first and foremost.
I do think he may play a head game with Texas, but my sense is Napier won’t play Lagway unless he is completely cleared to play. And UF doesn’t take that lightly.

I have already posted this elsewhere. Rehabbing and plotting a timeline if they dont shut him down for the remainder of the season needs to focus on the best opportunity to win the highest number of remaining games.

In my mind that means rest and treatment until ole miss week if not 1 additional week. We have seen past results with coaches trying to win the next game (with premature return to action despite clearance) vs. manage the schedule and return healthier.

Who was the WR with chronic hamstring issues in the 2010s?

That would be Andre Dubose who if I’m not mistaken still has some eligibility left.

“Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”
