Do we? Bc--what does that even mean, when the boomers are leading and have led both sides of the political divide? The boomer gen has been fractuos, contrarian, resitant to authority, and divisive from the get and remained so throughout. It's their signature traits. ...and I've known and know more boomers than all the rest combined. Again, no disrespect intended--just saying I think sofla's point, IMHO, is well taken.
no one assumes Christians are bad people. One of the guys I respect most in the world is an evangelical Christian and one of the best lawyers I know is very religious. Neither of them support Trump incidentally because they are both actually interested in what Jesus had to say However, I'm not interested in so-called Christian principals taking over government, I say so-called because of the people that talk loudest rarely walk the walk also this "you are all a very nasty bunch" language is very Trump, for a guy who says he doesn't support Trump. I don't think I've heard anyone besides Trump and old women over the age of 60 (and now you) use that sort of syntax
Wow, you deplorables sure are weak. Getting forced to do stuff by a bunch of weak, sexually ambiguous liberals. #SAD!
I know I’ll catch flick for this but oh well. I don’t care. I don’t care who wins. Neither candidate nor party comes close to reflecting who I am or what I stand for. I can’t remember the last time a national that I actually respected across the board while cloth. Jimmie was probably the closest.. then Ronald. Most are complete garbage lying slime. My life isn’t dramatically changed from one to the other. We have two parties… Governing gentry and the citizen servants. Doesn’t matter if you’re blue or red. I’ll try to follow my heavenly king, so my best to stay away from most people and live in solitude and comfort . We don’t need two countries. We need one with less TikTok, less videos of every mundane thing, few 24 hours of news channels, and more two parent homes, hard working young men and women, fewer “influencers” and more skilled laborers. But we have fallen away from that. Ear drink and be merry for tomorrow we go the way of the Roman Empire.
Do you really feel inclined to pick up arms against your fellow Americans? Gators? Floridians? Christians? Neighbors? (It's rhetorical. You don't. You wouldn't be on here mixing it up verbally with opposing view if you were. You'd be ... engaged in less civil endeavors.) .
This is the last post Im responding to as I don't have time to beat my head on a wall. It's really simple. All any of you had to do was say something to the effect of "No this probably wont happen because X,Y,Z". Instead you all chose to flame me and say stupid BS like this. Are you dense or do you not know that Republicans have been claiming the Dems are trying to bring us to Socialism or communism for decades? You aren't stupid, are you? No, you aren't... you are just another one trying to give an over the top reaction and flame someone who simply posed a hypothetical situation. This is a reflection of who you are as a person. Is my thread stupid? Sure. A premise that may not ever come to pass (as we all should hope)? Absolutely.. however, you all have to live with the fact that you are simply some of the most unpleasant people I've ever met and if any of you here are any true indication of how you are to people in real life, I'd rather jump off a building than take two seconds to meet any of you. Simply the worst people I've ever had to speak with.
Just romping out The OP did Say a peaceful split. No taking up of arms. No civil war. Still dumb.. but not violent
I’m a boomer and don’t care about politics any more. I have a president preference but will not lose any sleep over whoever gets elected. I’m at the age where I’ve decided to let everyone else get all worked up over politics. Reading this thread and pretty much all the others tells me I made the right decision. Now I mostly read and chuckle at everyone trying to out do each other. Still,,, Boomers rule!
My point stands and your nitpicking does nothing to dispute that we’ve had way more turbulent times. 2020’s are a breeze. Mississippi Burning: 1964 Kent State was 5 months into the 70’s but the environment built up earlier Many states didn’t criminalize domestic violence until the 70’s - NC, MA, AL… Vietnam protests were very common - I used spitting for effect
Easy. Disband the trailer park bowling teams in the states we want MAGA to vacate. The problem will pretty much take care of itself. Because it is a ridiculously stupid idea.
As for my post #31, I'm sick to death of Trump's LIES reappearing as if they're true. It wasn't meant to be an attack on you. But I can see why you took it personally. So, I've edited that post. Also, I addressed your OP directly in my post #40.
I remember a story about a black guy dragged around by a pickup truck in Vidor, Texas until a large amount of skin came off of him and he died of blood loss, but that wasn't the 1960's or 1970's. It was the 1990's.
Trump couldn't even build a wall with Mexico. How is he going to build a wall between the conservative and liberal residents of the U.S.? You don't expect people to undergo forced relocation, do you? How are people going to drive anywhere with all of the walls being built across roads to separate conservatives from liberals? And which country do conservatives who despise Donald Trump belong to? Because there are a bunch of us. There will be unity when Donald Trump dies and/or gives up on politics (and embraces his remaining years in the Pokey), and the republicans find a new leader who is not a junior Hitler. Once the republicans get spanked in a few elections and become borderline irrelevant, the people will wise up and vote people like Boebert, Gaetz, MTG, and others out of office, and we will see a new generation of republicans emerge.
At the core, it’s a struggle for power between two parties. The richer America becomes, the worse it’s going to get. We are inevitably fighting over money and power. That said, I believe also at the core, the progressives are pulling us further apart with their radical leftist agenda. The right pretty much stays put. We were founded upon the principles that the Republican party stands for generally. The Democrats are the ones attempting to rewrite the constitution. I cannot speak to what happened prior to my generation, I can only speak to what is happening now.
