Lots of folks have probably forgotten Carson Beck the hs QB out of Mandarin hs. Except for his junior year, struggled to complete 50% of his passes in his Soph and Senior years in hs. There is much about this years UGA team, that tells me they lack overwhelming talent this year like the last few years. This a winnable contest for the Gators.

In the offseason I thought we would keep it close this year and it would be a 4 quarter fight. Now it is tough to call.

• Napier will undoubtedly make some boneheaded coaching decisions
• I doubt Trell plays
• Carson Beck hasn't played clean football and I doubt he does against us
• Etienne probably wants to give us work because I am sure he has heard what fans have said about him

Hmmm... I am still going with the close one. I can't pick Napier to win a big game until I see him actually win one.

Napier takes his foot off the pedal in the second half but the Gators hold on 42-35

 

49-10, Billy manages to get the field goal unit on with 11 players for 3 points in the first quarter, then a garbage time TD against Kirby's scout team's towel manager's intramural squad. Should be enough to send Sunbelt Billy right back to the Sun.

It would be smart of Napier to minimize coaching blunders and devise a plan that lets Lagway make Jalen Milroe-like explosive plays—especially early in the game with Georgia having a couple safeties out in the first half for targeting penalties in previous games. We shall see if these defensive improvements are enough.

I think it’s not going to be close. Something in the 41-17 range. We will move the ball but struggle to get into the end zone. I’m think we’ll get a pick that results in a field goal, however. Hope I’m wrong and eat crow tomorrow.
