I'll say the same think I did about the GDP growth numbers: Everyone already has determined their view of the economy by this point. This number is not likely going to change that.
They are going after people who live on tips, a special unit established, while Harris is lying about exempting tips from taxes.
This is why it's hard to reconcile that our economy grew last quarter at 2.8%... Add to the "possibility" that number will go down into the negative, and we have a better picture of what our economy really looks like... unfortunately. It needs help, and right now the only thing that will help our economy is a change in administrations.
Temporary help services had a drop of 49,000 jobs last month while leisure and hospitatlity saw a drop of 4,000 jobs. In addition, previous months were revised down 112,000 jobs.
Well maybe it's just me, but if I welched on a bet, I'd be embarrassed to show my face around here. I guess you MAGA guys feel differently about it. Makes sense I guess since you support a guy who so frequently refuses to pay people what he owes them.
Actually, since Trump is running away with the election this month’s result is on him. Employers are pricing in a Trump win and cutting back hiring.
Over a single month. Is the window that you want to look at 1 month or 4 years like you used in that post or something else? If we stick with the 4 years you used to analyze government jobs, Leisure and Hospitality has added over 3.6 million jobs. That is considerably more than the government figure you stated over the same length of time. I will grant you that Temporary Help Services has been flat since 4 years ago. So there is one category that actually fits your description. But I think 3.6 million extra jobs counts as expansion for Leisure and Hospitality.
Overall, 12,000 jobs were added. However, the private sector lost another 28,000 jobs, and the government gained 40,000. Table B-1. Employees on nonfarm payrolls by industry sector and selected industry detail - 2024 M10 Results
Fear not our communist hunting poster, the Biden administration will be transitioning to the Harris administration in January.
Sure looks like they're doing something: U.S. Department of the Treasury, IRS announce $1.3 billion recovered from high-income, high-wealth individuals under Inflation Reduction Act initiatives | Internal Revenue Service
We could be building a useless wall on the Mexican border. We wasted four years without Biden giving priority to the wall building. Now its going to take 354 years to complete. Dammit!
Energy is a big part of that growth. But that's not something the average person is going to see in their day to day.
Unfortunately for your point, they track unemployment rates in native born populations. In January 2020, it was 4.0%. In October 2024, it is 3.9%. The native born populations aged and decided they don't want jobs. I guess we could force the boomer retirees back to work.
Does that graph I posted exhibit its data as a percentage of population or as whole numbers ? Unfortunately for your counterpoint, if whole numbers then as those native born who aged and opted out of work, they were, dare I say ‘replaced’ with non native workers. All that is predicated on if the graph and data are accurate which I cannot attest to as it’s not my data.
Whole numbers. Which is the point. The native born population is aging out of the work force at higher rates than it is replaced. But your likelihood of having a job is pretty much the same before and after the pandemic as a native born worker. The unemployment rate is low enough in both instances to say that we are at full employment for native born workers. Which is not surprising, as we have been in labor shortage for quite a while.
