I agree but only wistfully as today the issue has become one determined by society. Previously, it was sort of patriarchal- “we’re the experts, and we’ll tell you what will be done”. Today a responsible state wildlife agency should have bullet proof data regarding population status that supports their position as the issue of hunting/trapping charismatic mega-fauna will go straight to court or to the people in a referendum. The opinions of experienced experts matters not so much anymore
