I've posted this before, but will repeat it.

The only ones who have to pay for their own insurance is the middle aged middle class.

Very young (hopefully) covered by parents.

    Very old, covered by Medicare.

    Vets ... covered by Gov.

Rich - Don't need insurance, they can self insure.

Poor - either ACA or just don't pay their bills.

So the working middle class is supporting everyone else's healthcare via taxes AND have to pay for their own too.

Way past time for Universal Medicare.

If the Republicans regain control of the Senate which is a very real possibility Mitch McConnell or his successor could very well eliminate the filibuster on the repeal of the ACA much as Mitch eliminated the filibuster on confirmation of SCOTUS nominees. Since one the Trumpers is sure to raise the issue what Mitch did with SCOTUS nominees is not equivalent to what Harry Reid did when he eliminated the filibuster for confirmation of nominees to lower Federal court judgeships.

I was not a fan of Obamacare at first. I have in-laws in Georgia that didn’t use it at first due to the co-pays. They would go to the er for every health issue.

Then along came DT who did absolutely nothing with healthcare for 4 years except BS about it.

That’s when I changed my mind about it.

Until someone can show me, not tell me, they have a better plan for the middle and lower class, I’m all in on Obamacare. Talk is cheap and healthcare is something the pubs suck at.

And it's actually even worse; many of the working middle class has decent or good coverage provided by an employer-based plan.....but the rest are just absolutely screwed. (Much more so pre-ACA, obviously.)

I have found that the republicans are reactive instead of pro active. Turn Roe over to the states without knowing what women would be faced with should that happen, and get rid of a healthcare plan that has helped tens of millions of people without a better plan. Who knew healthcare was so complicated??

New Trump claim: he never wanted to get rid of Obamacare/ACA. Nope, you totally couldn't find hundreds of videos and tweets of him proposing exactly that:

Nah, but maybe there is a better system to take care of Americans and their health issues. I don't want the Pubs to get rid of it without replacing it with a better healthcare system.

But the problem is what is it, and can we make it better and cheaper at the same time? I don't really know. That is the challenge here.

Heck of a realization to come to...14 years after passage. Especially when the first half of that time was spent talking about how they would replace it with something so much better and how terrible it was.

You may not want it but that is what the Pubs want.

Imagine being so evil that you would want to bar some of your constituents from getting healthcare by reinstating pre-existing conditions limitations.

So the gop alternative to the aca is to strip millions from having any coverage at all and setting up millions for medically driven bankruptcy. Good to know.
