Somewhere there is a webpage might help with your questions.....let's see....OK here's one...... Football Game Day Guide
Nothing to lose. Give em our best shot and see what happens. We had this pegged as an L since summer.
The University of Florida pays Billy Napier $7M a year to win football games. UF pays me $0 a year to complain about whatever I want.
I am hearing and seeing a ton of optimism from the gator side. Me included. As we now get closer to game day…my optimism is lessening. Mainly because Georgia is by far the more talented team but more so the more talented coaching staff. And our performance vs teams like this are not good in recent games. I think I am setting myself up for disappointment. With my luck, Beck will finally put it together this week. Not that I expected to win….i was leaning to a more competitive game with a chance to win at the end. The more likely scenario when you start a true freshman qb against a Georgia defense is a beat down. The close game with a miracle win - It can still happen…but I am tempering my enthusiasm/expectations for this game. I like being pleasantly surprised vs deflated and bummed (as I was after the first halves of the Miami and Aggie games)
For the past 4 years (Corrected) Including this year Mutts have lost a total of 3 games. With our true freshmen, it's a tough spot to pull the upset. Stranger things have happened.. however I'm not sure which team of ours will show up. Hopefully the good guys for Florida will be there Saturday.
I think that Lagway is a lot better qb than AR that he will not be affected as much as AR was spelling Emory in 21. He looks more poised than AR in his second game against Georgia, so I have some hope. I think aTm was an even more talented DL than Georgia's. We have seen some tough pressure. Overall though, they will be a very difficult D to solve and will try to confuse Lagway. He will need planned runs and impromptu running to be successful. Georgia won't be as naive as UK to have the safeties crashing downhill every play and let speedsters run past them. Baugh needs 100 to win this; o/w Lagway will have no deep balls and will have to have improved his intermediate throws, which won't make a difference if most of the routes remain hitches.
Now that it is clear that Etienne left UF for UGa to be the lead rusher, tell me without cheating which of the 4 rushers that includes our top 3 rushers per attemt and Etienne, which is Etienne. 5.5 5.3 5.1 4.9
Freakin AR broke my damn heart against KY. That was arguably the UGLIEST performance by a UF QB since.....79? I closed the book on him after that fiasco. Good man, glad he got rich/paid, but like Shane Matthews always says, physical specimens DO NOT translate to great QB's ESPECIALLY in the NFL. And I understand AR will be sitting in the next game, and it is not due to injury.
MaceoP - Look at reality, even if UF plays the best game of the season....highly doubtful. UGA is literally better than the Gators and deeper at every position. In my mind it's all about just being competitive and not getting wiped out. Sure, Beck could throw 4 INT's and UGA drops a fumble or two, butttt....... They may find a ton of Gold coin on Oak Island this season too......lol.
We think alike. My heart keeps telling me, UF is PLAYING better! Defense is better, OL blocking is better, we have explosive plays on offense! Then I look at exactly whom the Gators have beaten and those teams collective records. I look at the UT tape. I look at the UGA, TX tape, IN AUSTIN. Yeah reality is sinking in.
Feel free to go back and watch the UGA games vs MSU and UK and then our games vs those teams if you’re starting to feel UGA is an immovable object.
I agreed with both of these posts. I don't know which way to lean... But I'll probably land on the pessimistic side of things...
I hate UGA, but we are +16.5. Is it possible? Sure, and I will be rooting for us the whole way win or lose.
